Doug simply shook his head, chuckling.

"It's tough training the new guys in a tournament setting, huh?" He admired how Maverick didn't really seem to care about winning or losing.

The Tauros might have been tough, but it only knew powerful, big moves. Using them a lot spent tons of energy, and as its new opponent was summoned, the pokemon was seized up in its lightning!

Blasted back by the wave of heat with no chance to dodge or counter, the Tauros reeled back, steam and smoke rising off its body before it collapsed onto its side, returning to his pokeball a moment later.

"You did great, man. Rest up- and let Bio handle this!" With those words, the youth threw out a netball, releasing his Parasect onto the field.

"Let's give 'em the Spore Cocktail special!" The Parasect squealed as it reeled back, before throwing a combination of noxious fumes at the washer, both sleep and poison inducing spores included in the mix!

The concoction worked, and though Doug wouldn't have considered the match over for the Rotom just yet, it seemed maverick noah ryder wanted to spare his pokemon the suffering. Being poisoned and struck while asleep sucked, after all.

However, the next pokemon to be thrown out? Doug could immediately tell he would put up a lot more of a fight than any of the ones before.

"Bringing out the big guns, huh?! This ain't a good match up for Bio." Doug said as he laughed, before sweeping his arm broadly. "Give 'im the ol' cocktail, Bio!"

Unfortunately, before the Parasect could launch it, the Arcanine dug into the Earth!

A squeal tore out of her as the Arcanine burst out of the soil with growl, sending her hurtling up in the air, her body spinning wildly.

If anything, a Z-move was a bit excessive.

The Parasect was completely defeated, there was no way it could stand up after taking that hit. Doug was bringing out his Blissey shortly after it had fallen, the nurse looking after the pokemon's health quickly. The moment she gave him a nod, he let relief flood him, shaking his head as he turned his gaze to Maverick.

"Bit excessive, don'tcha think?" The youth said with a weak chuckle, scratching at the back of his head before grabbing yet another net ball, grinning at the man.

"Fine then, let's go all out, since it's gotten to this point!"

Their battle went on to become a much more grand spectacle from then on; heck, Doug even activated the LEAGUE APPROVED SILPH BATTLEFIELD SYSTEM to protect their surroundings and onlookers.

Somehow, he managed to pull a hard earned win out of it.

And when they parted ways, all he could think was that he looked forward to seeing maverick noah ryder again!
