Siobhan approached, dipping her head politely. "Melody Miro, was it?" a pause "I was at your concert on the beach." no doubt the event would bring up some memories in the coming weeks.

Melody turned around as she suddenly heard a person behind her speaking to her. A girl who seemed to be around the same age as her approached her, asking for a battle! "Oh! you were? I hope you enjoyed the show!" she said as a genuine smile was painted across her face. [break][break]

They asked for a battle right after to which melody was very excited about "Yes sure of course! I'd love to!" as she then paused for a moment "What kind of battle would you want to have?" she asked curiously.

"I... did not like the crowd" a thin smile appeared, almost awkwardly "but your vocals were very nice. it made the experience worthwhile." a direct compliment, for she was not one to beat around the bush.

a pause at the inquiry though. "just a one on one, thank you" she added with a nod, taking a sphere at random from her belt. releasing it, a Flapple would appear before her. the tiny dragon looked a bit anxious.

"awww thank you so much." she said giving a small warm smile to the girl. It always warmed her heart to hear such kind words. Hoenn needed more kind people to spread joy like this girl "Yeah the crowds at my concerts tend to be pretty wild, in my first concert in public Tapu Bulu began a rampage around the spirit festival. Kind of spooky." she admitted scratching the back of her head. [break][break]

Once she saw the flapple floating around confused she spoke again "Oh my gosh! How cute!" she said as she tossed out her own pokemon, a rilaboom who she had raised since he was a grookey. "Rilaboom! drum beating!" she called out as her gorilla pokemon slammed down on the drums several times to have vines lash out at the flapple.

her Flapple hadn't even been given a name yet, freshly caught as it had been. "Acrobatics" so it fell to Siobhan to actually give him orders. the large ape made the anxious dragon even more anxiety-ridden.

this was a test to see if the little Pokémon had what it took. shooting forward, he managed to dodge the thick vines that tried to get at him. pleasantly surprised by this, he trills happily.

Monkey no like bat apple, it was already being too quick for Rilaboom to keep up with at first due to acrobatics being an incredibly fast move. Rilaboom was angry as it tried to hit back with it's drumsticks but it failed to even get a hit in on it. So instead he decided to go with a move he and melody both knew wouldn't miss, no matter how fast he was he couldn't be faster than sound![break][break]

"Rilaboom! Give em a taste of your boom burst!" she ordered as rilaboom repeatedly banged on it's drums several times to generate enough sound for the boom burst attack.

the ape's attack did hit. Flapple cries out and haphazardly flaps away from the larger Pokémon. "Wing Attack" but Siobhan was quick to give another order. cooing almost sadly, it would shoot toward the ape.

it's little wings were no match for the bulk of the other, but it tried to fly at it's head and hit it around the ears. y'know, just to get some sort of attack in. Flapple didn't expect anything, not even a victory.

Yes the sound attack was successful! Melody assumed it didn't have protect from it not blocking the powerful sound move, well not like it even really needed it with such impressive speed! Siobhan had a good pokemon with her. With the wing attack the rilaboom was susceptible to it since it didn't really have the speed to keep up with the bat apple. [break][break]

However it didn't seem like so far it knew any range attacks "Rilaboom! Try and use knock off on flapple!" she ordered as rilaboom put both of it's hands together and raised them over it's head and tried to bring them down on the cute little apple.

it would not surprise Siobhan when she lost. she knew it would happen the moment the ape was sent against her much smaller Pokemon. there had been no time to train Flapple, no bonding... she would be surprised if they won.

but Flapple tried his best. he rushed at the ape best he could, trying to withstand the assault of Knock Off. he was hit, however, and almost cascaded to the earth from the force. "Acrobatics" Siobhan calls out.

once more, he'd grin and bear it. once more, he zipped toward the other Pokemon. he hoped to at least go down swinging.

Melody saw the Rilaboom smack down the Flapple. Well it worked, but melody's heart cracked a bit as she saw how desperate it was fighting. Melody watched the acrobatics once again, the speed a little slower than before but she understood why it couldn't move as quickly as before. The poor thing was probably growing extremely tired, she'd move to put it out of this battle quickly as nonlethal as possible. [break][break]

"Rilaboom! Use drum beating and restrain it please!" she called out as Rilaboom withstood the attack and continued to drum as vines would fly out from beneatht he drumset, trying to reach for the apple and hold it still.

yes, Flapple was slowing down. Siobhan could see it clearly from her position. still, it fought with all it's soul and heart. just to please his trainer, or to prove something? she did not know for sure.

"Wing Attack" Siobhan says as the vines come close to the dragon. he beats his wings viciously, cutting a few of the vines as they try to restrain him. despite his weakness as a battler, he tries.

but the vines do encase him. he squawks in surprise and shock, furiously trying to get free.

Melody cringed, ugh this felt kinda really bad. The poor thing was trying so hard...she whistled at her rilaboom who looked back at her confused to which she nodded and the vines loosened if ever so slightly to release the pokemon as the move was over now. "Rilaboom, hyper voice." As rilaboom continued it's drumming session to fire off sound blasts, she kept the smile on her face apparent. She couldn't allow her joy to be diminished, even for a second? Why? She just couldn't. [break][break]

he wanted this thing to just go down. She released her gardevoir who stayed by her side, putting her trainer at ease with just a hand on the girl's shoulder.

Flapple wasn't down for the count just yet. the second the ape's vines loosened, he shot forward and up, avoiding the Hyper Voice. he trills happily, but wearily, zooming toward the other Pokemon with a last ditch effort.

another Wing Attack. Siobhan blinks slowly in surprise, having not had much hope for the Flapple's battle prowess. perhaps he was tougher than she assumed.

Melody was shocked, the flapple perked up and even got another hit in out of nowhere, guess he got his second wind? Well color her impressed! [break][break]
The hyper voice missed?! FUH- melody mentally cussed as she didn't want to let on loose in front of someone she just met, especially someone who went to her concert. Mom would kill her. [break][break]
"Rilaboom! finish this off with a focus blast!" The rilboom raised his sticks and slapped them together firing a ball of blue and orange energy created from it's mental focus and fired it quickly towards the flapple.
