the glastrier let out a snort as it tried to move more into the center of the umbrella trying to get under the shade while almost stepping on the falinks that was scattered about under the shade causing them all the yell out. "hey guys chill alright? i know its hot today but your the ones who wanted to get in on the fun for this tournament. so ya might as well bear it just a little bit ok?" kaz said as he took a sip out of his water battle before going back to scan the beach for more opponents to throw his pokemon at, the tournament was coming to a close and he was looking to try and get some more battles in as much as possible. even if it did count as a loss on his end.

She heard a familiar voice nearby, was that Kazimir Wynter ? It was! She ran over to him in flip flops and her swimsuit as she was enjoying the festivities on the beach as well despite the fact that it was almost over. "What's wrong kaz? Your pokemon cant stand the heat anymore?" she teased as she pulled out a pokeball and moved it side to side suggesting that she wanted to battle. "You down?" she asked curiously. [break][break]

She wondered if he'd accept a battle on such short notice, she knew him as an acquittance and never really got to hang out with him one on one. "Well?" she asked again.

"hm? hey your-" he was pretty sure she held a concert not too long ago here, "melody right? fancy seeing you here, and itching for a fight. and tell me about it, ya think an ice type could weather a bit of heat huh, actually..." he turned back towards his glastrier who seemed to pick up his gaze and stared back at the blonde who suddenly called him over. "hey glasty! c'mon over. we got a battle and your the main star today!" the horse let out another snort and hesitantly walked over to his trainer's side and gave him a nudge as it stood next to him and eyed melody curiously before letting out a mist as it let out a whinny to try and cool itself and everyone around them down a few degrees. "y'know you coulda just done that to beat the heat. well ya think you can take this stallion down? don't let him scare ya, guy's pretty cool and all, pun intended."

"I hope your pokemon likes it hot, cause she's gonna bring the heat." she said laughing at her own shitty pun. Seems like that Stormy Silph cosplay still hasn't worn off yet. [break][break]

"Hope you don't mind me snatching the first move!" she said as people backed away to make room for their battle. "Braixen! Use sunny day!" she ordered as braixen spun it's stick around in a circle creating a small ball of fire and launching it into the air and allowing the heat to swirl around the make shift battle field.

the glastrier snorted loudly as the sun started to shine in its eyes brightly. first the sweltering heat and now the blinding sun, it so was not a summer pokemon that was for sure. "c'mon glasty its just a bit of sun light, let's fight weather with weather and hit them with a SNOWSTORM OF SWORDS!" kaz's voice rang out and his glastrier stamped his feet onto the ground and whinnied as spears of ice materialized out of what was left of the moisture in the air (or maybe its own sweat?) and launched an icicle crash against the magic fox and sent a few at the blinding sun to tear it down from the sky.

Icicles crashed into the ball of fire and weakened it slightly, on top of crashing into the sunny day they also crashed into the braixen who took the brunt of the attack. Thankfully due to the type match up it wasn't a detrimental hit but it was certainly not fun to ever get hit. Braixen looked at Melody, eager to get it's revenge. [break][break]

Melody nodded "Ok braixen! Use flame thrower on that icy horse!" she called out as the braixen chanted to itself creating a small ball of fire on the tip of it's twig and launching a stream of flames towards her target.

the flames that licked at the horse were much worse than any bearing sun plus with the heat from the sunny day ahead of them it sure wasn't helping the glastrier in any way possible. "c'mon let's power on through this!" kazimir called out, his command giving a clue on what the horse should do.

it didn't really want to in the moment however.

as the flames engulfed the horse it pushed itself to dive deeper into them galloping at full speed to show just how much high horsepower it had. upon closer inspection it would be obvious that it was indeed looking to ram right into the braxien at full force!

Melody was curious to see what exactly this icy horse was able to do, she wondered if kazimir really liked it since she saw it with him all the time. She could also see why kazimir liked it as it was quite the powerful pokemon as that high horsepower kicked Braixen right in the gut and sent it flying. Melody watched as her pokemon zipped right past her and landed in the sand behind her. "WOAH." she said [break][break]

"That thing is strong! Braixen are you ok!?" she asked as braixen quickly dusted itself off and grabbed it's stick, not even waiting for it's trainer to give her the command but it was fine since it was what melody wanted anyways, there were little will-o-wisps that floated around braixen as it launched them at the pokemon to try and burn it.

"yeah he's a tough one. well when he's not letting sunburn get the better of him anyway." amidst the jokes the glastrier took the time it bought itself sending the braxien away to iron out its defenses as it grew a few more pieces of ice along its mane to make it look longer than before. however such a strong defense wasn't that much use at the power of the ghostly will-o-wisps floated about and attached themselves to the horse causing intense burns along its flank as it let out a cry and kicked a bunch of sand about trying to shake them off.

"Hmmm I see, I see extra armor is a good move!" she said putting her knuckle to her chin, she was watching this horse closely, wondering if there was any tactic she could learn that would be useful from the battle. [break][break]

The sun's light faded away and Braixen's extra power to fire moves also faded away with it. However who needed fancy Shmancy fire! We had BIG BRAIN POWERS. "Braixen! Use Psychic!" she ordered as Braixen circled the twig in the air as the psychic energy took control of a nearby umbrella and threw a nearby at the glastrier, before some other nearby objects begin to also pelt away at glastrier. [break][break]

as the burns stung the horse's skin the umbrella flying right at him was not helping and the horse could only grunt in annoyance as it started to run from the umbrella to save itself. "c'mon glasty its just a beach umbrella! freeze it and the little magical girl fox in its place! and then freeze up braxien!" taking kazimir's advice to heart the glastrier let out a whinny as its head began to shimmer and an ice beam shot out sweeping left and right, freezing the umbrella cold in its tracks and aimed to freeze the braxien as well.

Damn it, he managed to freeze the beach umbrella and the other objects in place! Oh shit "Braixen!" she called out but it was too late, the ice beam managed to freeze braixen. Crap crap crap "Braixen can you still hear me? Try to thaw out with flame thrower!" she called to it, she could see that there was heat being generated near it's mouth so she could hear but it would take time for it to fully thaw out. [break][break]

It wouldn't break out immediately and melody was fearing that it would be enough of an opening for kazimir to take advantage.

"looks like now's our chance! hit them up with a HAIL OF MERRY!" kazimir called out signaling his horse to rear up on its hind legs as spears of ice materalized out of thin air and were shot forward at the frozen braxien. while the moves might not be effective themselves creating an ice sculpture out of melody's pokemon was proving to be something positive out of this battle. a memory that hte horse would cherish forever whenever it would think about her performances.

Melody began to panic, her poor little Braixen was getting slammed with another ice move making it even harder to thaw. She closed her eyes and flinched at the sound of it crashing into her. Melody took a deep breath and shouted right at the ice sculpture. "BRAIXEN!!! FIRE SPIN! YOU GOT THIS!" she called out to her pokemon. [break][break]

At first there was no signs of life but suddenly the sand around Braixen began to heat up and steam. The ice cracked and a circle of fire rotated around Braixen as it's blaze ability activates and uses Fire spin on the ice horse.
