Now this was a fight Oscar was more than eager to partake in. On the opposite side of the arena stood Melody Miro, the Sootopolis gym leader. He had recently completed her challenge, an unusual fight in which he could only defend against her attacks. This time however he would be unchained, and now they would see what would have happened had he gone the more traditional route.

Too bad it was a fucking tag fight.

Oscar had been paired up at random with some geezer that looked like he was gonna keel over at any moment. He kept mumbling to himself as he leaned on his cane, did he even know where he was? Oscar decided to ignore him, addressing Melody alone.

"Well hello again Melody, I hope you're ready to--"
"Huh? What'd ya say?!"

The old man interrupted Oscar, facing him while cupping his ear. Oscar scoffed, "I--I wasn't talking--" The old man cut in again, "Speak up sonny my ears ain't what they used to be!" Oscar glared at the old man, attempting to blow up his head with his expression alone.

Fucking random old guy.

Melody giggled at oscar's partner, the old man had clearly lead a long life and seemed very wise. At one point at least, Melody's own partner was someone rather cute instead! She had a little girl who was her fan and had asked her to partake in a tag battle with her. The little girl seemed to be around 10 and didn't have her own pokemon so Melody let her borrow one! "Here you go sweetie." she said handing her igglybuff's pokeball. [break][break]

"Hey Oscar! It's good to see you again!" she said as she tossed out her own pokeball and released her samurott onto the battle field. "You better not let me down since you beat my challenge oscar! I'm excited to see how your firepower is since i've seen you defense." she said turning to the crowd forming to watch the pop star as she waved to them all. Some of them even excited to see oscar since they watched him on tv!

Oscar's attention was drawn to Melody as she spoke to him, and he smiled as his resolve was renewed. "You know it! Get ready, I'm gonna give it everything I've--"

"What'd you say!? Why are ya murmurin'?" Oscar's eyes blazed with unbridled fury. "Fuck it, GO NOSTRA!" Oscar's pokeball opened, and after a flash of red light the Crobat Nostra would unfurl his wings. The bat clenched his teeth, screaming toward his opponents as he flexed the muscles across his wings. This was one bad mother, it was no wonder Oscar brought him along.

The old man huffed, "Tell yer bat to quiet down! He's givin' me a headache!" Oscar groaned, "Just, send out your pokemon! Please!" The old man huffed as he pulled out a pokeball, "Well ya don't gotta shout."

He opened it up, revealing a solrock. The old man clicked his cane, "Get ready Sail, we got ourselves a rumble!" The Solrock trembled, ready to face whatever came next.

Melody giggled nonstop at oscar and the old man, it was kind of cute to see him so frustrated. Melody saw them throw out their own pokemon and was genuinely excited! [break][break]

A crobat and a solrock? Interesting duo! However so would Melody's team combo! Melody grinned as she tossed out her pokeball, revealing a samurott from within it's pokeball and the little girl squeeled at seeing it and tossed out her pokeball revealing the igglybuff. "Ok she's all yours to command! Come, let me tell you a secret." she said kneeling down and whispering the moves igglybuff knows into her ear. [break][break]

The little girl giggled and wondered if she'd be allowed to go first so melody nodded and the girl started off the battle. "Igglybuff! Use charm!" she says as igglybuff attempts to charm both opponents. "Samurott! Aqua jet solrock while he's wide open!" she ordered as water encapsulates the large samurai otter and dashed towards it's opponent.

The charms of this little pink puffball could unfortunately not go unnoticed. Nostra found himself furrowing his brow, unable to look away as the tyke attempted to be as adorable as possible. Sail the solrock similarly stared in admiration of the cutie, shaking as if to nonverbally go 'Awwwww'. Even the old man was taken in by her charm.

"Aw, what a cute lil gal. She reminds me of the time my daughter got first place in the--"

It was Oscar's turn to interject, "The samurott! It's coming right for Sail!" The old man wagged his finger toward his tag partner, "Don't interrupt! It throws off my focus! Now where was I? It was at least mid-August..."

Oscar groaned and threw out a hand, "Nostra, stop the charge!" Nostra snapped out of his trance, quickly locating the samurott and charging toward it. His intent was to slam into it with a swipe of Cross Poison, taking some damage while also protecting his partner. The excitement caused the old man to remember that he was in a battle, and he stammered out his own command. "S-s-sail! Rock Polish!"

The solrock shined like a polished piece of marble, looking very spiffy to say the least. The old man nodded, "That'll do it. Now where was I?" Oscar smacked his forehead with his palm, pulling his hair slightly as he turned his attention back to Nostra.

The Aqua jet collided with the Crobat's cross poison and managed to stop it, the samurott managed to at least damage the Crobat but it was unfortunate that it wasn't the intended target. The Samurott jumped back as it saw that the move failed and gave some distance between it and the opposing team. She was lucky that Samurott's armor managed to protect it from the critical hit but continued use of that move would be dangerous if it got poisoned. [break][break]

So instead Melody looked towards her ally in this battle, she was going to the little girl determine their strategy and support her! "UhhHhhHhHhH" she said really loudly as it was obvious she wasn't taking this serious at all and was just having fun with it. [break][break]

"Scream at them igglybuff!" she said as igglybuff looked confused and melody gestured to go through with it and Igglybuff stared back at the enemy confused still. It tried to use disarming voice at the enemy team and so Melody supported her by using focus energy, as samurott withdrew it's shell sword and intensely stared at the opponents to charge it's next move.

As a poison type, Nostra was resistant to the screeches of the puff ball. However, that not make the noise any less annoying. He shut his eyes tightly, trying to keep his focus with that INSESSIT RACKET ringing in his ears.

Sail was a lot less lucky, wiggling about in agony as the screeching continued. The old man grabbed his head and hollered, "What's wrong Sail? Why's he twitchin' about like that!?" Oscar rolled his eyes, "Nostra, stop that puff."

The crobat nodded, using his resistance he charged forward to try and strike it with another Cross Poison.

The little pink puff wasn't ready for such a quick and speedy opponent. She got completely nailed by the move, it was super effective and it seemed that it even managed to poison the little baby. Ah crap. The little girl was upset about it and huffed and puffed about her pokemon getting injured so melody had to step in quickly. [break][break]

Samurott dashed forward suddenly, aiming a Fury cutter at the Crobat for daring to strike at the pretty little pink princess. In return, Igglybuff watching this spectacle used copycat on Samurott and grabbed a seashell from the floor and also used fury cutter on the crobat as well.

The attack hit its target, and Nostra swirled as he prepared for another strike. This tyke was simply in the way, if he knocked it out now it would save him a lot of trouble later on. He flared his eyes, aiming another swift strike against the little pink pokemon.

However the samurott was just as swift, slamming into Nostra with a Fury Cutter. It sent Nostra flying, skidding against the ground and right next to the igglybuff. As Nostra got up, the tyke would use another Fury Cutter against him. It didn't hurt nearly as much, but it damaged his pride rather immensely.

Nostra launched himself away, flying toward the more formidable of the two targets. He began to swing his wings through the air, sending thin blades of wind toward the samurott (Air Cutter). His main aim was to distract it enough to leave it open for a follow up attack.

Meanwhile Oscar looked to the old man, "Hey is Saint alright? I need his help!" The old man nodded, "Don't worry, we got just the trick. Sail! Morning Sun!" Sail began to glow with a dazzling light, healing his previous wounds. Oscar sighed, at least it was doing something.

Melody whispered to the little girl and the little girl shouted her command "Igglybuff! Copycat the sWOWOCK!" she said goofily as she giggled at her saying it funny. The igglybuff began to float slightly and shun with a dazzling bright white that healed the samurott's wounds. [break][break]

Time to take out sail? Time to take out sail, or try. Samurott and melody both witnessed the morning sun and knew they had to do something about it. However those air slashes were a huge annoyance and Samurott had taken a couple of hits, after the morning sun again. "Samurott! Fury futter again!" she said to gain the attack boost from using the move twice in a row and aimed to attack solrock once more. [break][break]

The Samurott took aim at Sail, and as the juggernaut came near the old man began to panic. Oscar huffed, not about to let his teammate down--even if he was more trouble than he was worth.

"No worries, we got ya. Nostra! Intercept and--"

"SAIL EXPLODE!"

Oscar stood dumbfounded as the solrock rushed the Samurott, exploding when it got close enough. He looked over at the old man slowly, barely holding back his immense fury. "Why---why?"

The old man seemed rather smug about his poorly planned maneuver. "Don't you worry. He'll be as good as new in a few days. We can finish the battle then!" Oscar looked over at the charred Sail, twitching on the ground. "The--we can't stop the battle! We have to finish it today!" The old man scratched his head, "Ah well, hrm. Whoops!"

Oscar blinked several times before looking to Melody, his dead expression being plenty to illustrate how frustrated he was.

Melody's face turned to sheer panic as samurott and igglybuff were both hit by the explosion. However due to igglybuff's friend guard samurott took a lot less damage than he would have normally tanked. [break][break]
However igglybuff isnt as fortunate and is knocked out. It was now a one on one. Melody was DYING of laughter at oscar's misfortune and decided to take the chance to attack quickly before crobat made a move. "Aqua jet! quick!" she ordered as the pokemon coated themselves in water and made a mad dash to the crobat.

Nostra wasn't spared by the explosion, being blown away by the shockwave. Unfortunately he had no friend shield to buffer him, and his entire body was aching. He peeled himself off the ground, just in time to see an Aqua Jet coming his way. This would surely be the end of him, but we need like three more posts so time to drag it on just a bit more.

Nostra was smashed into a wall, covered in water and seething mad. He knew he had little energy left, if he wanted to survive he'd need to make a drastic move. Nostra launched forward, his mouth open wide as he would attempt to chomp on the Samurott and Leech its Life.

Oh hell no bitch, u aint leeching anyone's life. Samurott quickly used detect to dodge out of the way of the leech life and pulled his shell sword and bonking crobat on the head for trying to rob someone of their precious life force. That shit was sacred man, u cant just ROB people, that's ILLEGAL.
