A submerged tag battle.

He'd never heard of such a thing but it sounded fun as hell.

He didn't know who his partner was. They roster didn't name them by, name, only by color.

Sénon and this guy (MATIAS SILPH) were on the yellow team in yellow scuba gear and the other guys were in white scuba gear on the white team.

Simple stuff.

But as one of the challenging trainers sent out a Ferligatr. Sénon looked to the other guy in yellow before making his own choice.

the two of them are actually familiar with each other, though hidden and masked by scuba gear and the color yellow, they become nothing more than teammates.

holding up an okay sign that he learned from Eva Morales, he sends out his cloyster and prepares for battle.

one of the challenging trainers sends out a huntail, completing their team.

His pokéball flashed its white light leaving a Seviper to snake through the waters in its wake.

Seviper swam to the Cloyster. Keeping her eyes on the Ferligatr in the distance.

The last trainer offering up a Turtonator as the other opposing pokemon.

[attr="class","matias"]for those who aren't prepared or well-trained, underwater battles can be brutal. but for matias' pokemon, they're used to fighting without the need for orders.

so matias floats, simply watching as his cloyster starts the battle off with a sharp ICICLE CRASH at the turtonator.

the feraligatr closes in for a WATERFALL on the seviper.

Seviper got her bearing quickly she understood proximity between humans in this case meant allies.

She saw cloyster as a big thing that could take hits for her while she wore down their enemies occupied with attacking.

She couldn't ask the cloyster for permission, but she could force them all to battle the way she wanted to.

She took the WATERFALL and its damage using it as cover to slip behind the Turtonator snaking around its back to flash deadly intent from its eyes.

But not before the Turtonator fires its own FIRE BLAST back at the ice type that ignores the water completely.

In fact Sénon could feel the water temperature rising.

Seviper used GLARE!

the FIRE BLAST illuminates, heating the water. cloyster shakes the flames off, shifting through now-warm waters to return a RAZOR SHELL against the turtonator.

Paralysis makes the Turto easy prey at takes the razor shell. Naturally like more turtle pokémon and cloyster alike it took the slightest signs of danger of protect itself; IRON DEFENSE hardening its body.

Not far from, Ferligatr and Seviper entwine with death roll and tight wrapping respectively all the while biting at one another with ICE and POISON FANGS, also respectively.

Seviper used POISON FANG!

another RAZOR SHELL slices against turtonator, looking to break through scales.

feraligatr uses its SUPERPOWER in an attempt to throw the seviper off.

Tired of being roughed up by the bigger and bulkier reptile Seviper shakes off the SUPERPOWER throw and answers with another GLARE.

With a bright flash of the eyes and fangs and a prominent display of the dangerous coloring of its splotches, the Ferligatr locked up making it fodder to another round of POISON FANGS and JABS.

[attr="class","matias"]the turtonator looks to retaliate only to be stopped by PARALYSIS; muscles tensing up as it attempts to breathe fire.

this allows cloyster to continue her assault of RAZOR SHELLS which continue to break scales and skin. the turtonator nears fainting.

as does the feraligatr as their battle draws close to the end.

With the otherside getting bogged down in status conditions and competent maneuvering one of their trainers decided to go big or go home, triggering the Turtonator into EXPLOSION.

To save herself and her human, Seviper abandoned the Ferli-fight to make it back to Sénon in an attempt to protect him.

But she was too far away.

Before the turto detonated a fleshy barrier of scale and muscle expanded from the Head Ranger's pokéball; Ranton protecting them from the shockwave of the blast and any shrapnel from it.

When the explosion subsided his partner would find himself staring down the resting bitch face of a Gyarados.

[attr="class","matias"]well, matias isn't expecting an EXPLOSION, but he reacts little to it. a shield of PROTECT forms, wrapping over him to protect him from the heat and force.

cloyster isn't as lucky.

when the brightness from the explosion dies down, cloyster's drifting down towards the ground, unconscious.

now it's up to his partner to end the battle.

Returning Ranton to her Pokéball Sénon watched the end results of the EXPLOSION; Cloyster and Turtonator were knocked out.

Seviper was half-done and Ferligatr was both paralyzed and poisoned.

While the gator tried to get control of its own motor functions Sénon met Seviper and through a hand gesture gave her orders.

There was no need to drag this out any further.

Swimming top speed the snake smashed her plated skull into the gators maw rendering them both unconscious.

Seviper used FINAL GAMBIT!

^{Seviper was Knocked Out!}

As per the rules of this match in the case of double knock outs strategic/'sacrificial' knock outs from moves like FINAL GAMBIT, EXPLOSION and SELF-DESTRUCT, the win would go to the team of the pokémon who caused the final knockouts.

So in other words...

cloyster is swiftly recalled.

matias turns to his partner, taps him on the shoulder, then points up before swimming up to break through the surface. the regular pops out of his mouth and he takes a moment to inhale a breath of fresh air.
