Melody had another battle scheduled, however this was for someone she hadn't really met before. Not that it was weird or anything, she devoted all her time these days to these dang battles. The end was near though so soon she'd finally be able to take a break! As if she'd even let herself as her workaholic tendencies never really let her stop. She rolled up to the battle spot and eagerly awaited her opponent, slowly shifting her weight back and forth and waving to people who recognized her.

he looked surprised when he sees hair that's bright blue or pink or whatever color the hover shows.

"is that melody fucking miro?" he exclaims. "yo! you down for a match?" he shouts to take her attention as he takes out his phone.

opening up battle spot as soon as possible, he scrolls through all the requests instead of waiting for the system to match them automatically. once he sees her name, he quickly takes the opportunity to accept the match.

"hah!" he says as he clicks the button on his screen.

"Yes of course sure we can battle!" she told him as he immediately scooped up her available spot on the request system. She eagerly pressed accept as well. "Alright, I accept! a full 6 vs 6? How exciting." [break][break]

She tossed out her first pokeball containing her chatot within who flew around in circles sqwuaking "Who's a pretty bird? Who's a pretty bird?" awaiting for his opponent to show up.

priam looks surprised somehow when she brings out a chatot instead of a water-type. he was already swinging his arm to throw the pokeball so he can't change his decision now.

a shroomish appears to go against the bird.

"what the fuck? i thought you use water-types?" he asks, confused. "i think it's because your wardrobe is blue..." he ponders out loud.

still, this wouldn't put a damper on priam's moxie."anyways, toxic!"

the shroomish uses toxic on the bird.

"I do!" she says cheerily "But an artist has to be flexible or else she gets stale ya know?" she explains afterwards as Shroomish then suddenly begins to use toxic on Chatot. "Chatot use chatter!" she calls out as Chatot repeats Priam's in his likeness of "Use toxic! Use Toxic Use toxic! SQwUAKKKK" the voice was pretty identical to Priam's possibly causing shroomish to become confused as a side effect of the move.

his confusion turns to panic when he sees his shroomish was the one getting confused.

"oh, no. what did you do?" he asks.

the shroomish on his side of the fight now starts to throw sticky, viscous liquid all around. sludge on the sand, sludge on itself, sludge on the bird, sludge on the fish that swam near their side of the beach; sludge everyone. it's lucky that it's purple and not white.

Oh god oh god oh god, wait no "Wait no! no! Shroomish stop!" she said watching in horror while everything got covered in a liquid toxin, chatot flying in the sky to try and avoid the poison but ultimately getting hit by the move he got lucky and dodged the first time. Chatot looked at the shroomish and before melody could even order it chatot already knew what to do, he took in a big gulp of air and fired off a hyper voice towards the Shroomish's ears- Wait do shroomish even have ears? How do they hear?

the only thing that the shroomish did was stand around. in a fit of confusion, it does something else and shoots a seed bomb straight up in the air, where it would soon drop and explode around its radius, spreading dust and sand all over.

it was clear to priam that he now has to live with a deaf pokemon.

"oh my god, you gave my shroomish a disability!"

Melody freaked out at the shroomish being unable to hear priam and instead firing off a seed bomb, she was extremely confused. Was it cause of the confusion or was it because it couldnt hear it's trainer correctly? "Oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck." she said worriedly. She tried to gather herself together "I gave it soundproof! It cant hear chatot anymore!" she said trying to continue the battle. [break][break]

She completely didn't even seed that the chatot got hit to the floor by seed bomb, covered in pollen and sand in the process and recovered before that. "Chatot feather dance! Calm it down!" she ordered, maybe he'd be unable to hurt itself if he was in a weakened state? Well regardless a barrage of feathers fell gently upon chatot.

it is a very common knowledge that a mushroom's worst enemy are birds, evident by their times four weakness to it when they evolve. the feathers only serve to make the shroomish panic more.

"shroomish, calm down!" he demands. even if it could hear him, no one has been able to order someone to calm down on command.

instead of calming down, it just shoots more seeds. they weren't seed bombs as priam had asked it earlier, but leech seeds. it gets launched indiscriminately, and was thrown everywhere, even towards the bird and the gym leader.

"oh wait, you're a gym leader right? that means super smart about pokemon. does that mean soundproof is a shroomish's hidden ability?"

Wait was it shroomish's hidden ability? Could it be awoken or some shit from bursting it's ear drum? Melody sat and thought about it for a while, it must be that...She stared at the shroomish as it spewed out MORE SEEDS? FUCK, chatot got covered in leech seeds and the life from it was slowly sapped away to shroomish. "I dont know! I just sing and dance! I only know about water types!" she exclaimed "But that does make sense....should we test it out again?" she said tilting her head. [break][break]

"Chatot! synchronoise!" she called out forgetting exactly what the move does. It doesn't seem to affect shroomish as a strange noise emanated from the bird's body "Holy fuck he must have soundproof now!" she exclaimed excitedly.

priam gives melody a slow clap. "wow." it's the only word he can say about the display.

on one hand, he's now immune to sound-based moves according to the top leading expert on water-type pokemon. on the other hand, neither chatot nor shoormish are water-type so her knowledge is moot.

"headbutt!" priam shouts.

instead of rushing to headbutt, it instead has a spurt of growth. it is now slightly larger by around a centimeter by absorbing sunlight and doing the process of photosynthesis or something.

"oh, wow. it really is now soundproof! it's not hearing my words now!"

the bird slams itself to the mushroom and thus shows that they are the natural enemies of mushrooms in the wild. melody miro just showed how brutal nature is in front of priam.

"oh, no. he's now deaf and unconscious... maybe even dead."

he shrugs and takes out a pokeball to recall the shroomish. if it was dead, then this wouldn't be the first time he has a dead pokemon inside a pokeball.

"i guess there's that. my shroomish is now disabled forever..." priam pouts and tries to look sad.
