Eva smiles fondly when she see the knight on the other side of the field and raises her hand in greeting, “Hi, Gwyar!” Even from afar she can see he’s . . . different? Well, not quite himself it seems, “Everything alright?” she asks with genuine concern.

A flash of light materializes a small pokemon to match Raki. The Horsea chirps nervously, not quite sure if it’s ready for battle or not. It’s a young pokemon, a newer member of the team. Perhaps putting it up against a fighting-type who naturally excel at battle isn’t a good idea. Oh well, we’ll see.

Well, at least someone was happy.

"I am. Hello, Doctor." The man said simply, slapping on a practiced smile. "Shall we begin?"

He didn't have the heart for pleasantries at the moment.

Raki leapt up to his feet, rolling his shoulders experimentally. Despite the quick trip to the pokemon center, his fractured shoulder blade from his battle with DANNY HALL's Grimmsnarl still throbbed with every stretch.

Whatever, he could deal fine with it; he had fought this entire tournament back to back until now; he wasn't gonna let a stupid injury stop him.

He glared the Horsea down, lowering his stance to rush it down.

"You may have the first move."

“Hm,” she doesn’t believe him, but she doesn’t push. That’s not her place. It obvious small talk is off the table. That just left the battle, “Alright, yeah, let’s go, Knight,” she encourages the Horsea forward. If Eva knew he Riolu’s condition, she would have adamantly disapproved of pushing a young pokemon this hard.

Knight takes the first move, readying himself for battle by flexing, warming up his muscles and quickening his pace with an AGILITY.

The knight offers no counter order, though for once it ain't due to his current issues. His battling style does not involve the micromanaging of his pokemon, simply enough.

Watching the Horse with a keen eye, the little Puppy began to bob back and forth on its legs, aura surging around it as it breathing in and out quickly.

Eva smiles as the Riolu begins to dance, cloying Knight’s move. Clever little pup. Knight, on the other hand, seems annoyed. With a pout he lunges forward, spraying a BEAM OF BUBBLES straight at the Riolu.

Still bouncing from one foot to the other, the Riolu grins cheekily at the Horsea, winking at it before dashing off to the side as the bubble beams come for him, taking a flying leap onto a boulder left in the battlefield before pushing off it in an attempt to reach the horsea and headbutt it!

In an impressively acrobatic move, the Riol dodges the Bubble Beam and launches itself off of a rock with a QUICK ATTACK. Honestly. The little guy deserves a round of applause for that, it was quite impressive! The pup slams into the Horsea with considerable force, knocking the poor thing back and into the coarse sand.

Knight pops back up, shaking the sand off his blue scales with a pout. Narrow eyes continue to glare at the Riolu in offense. In close proximity, he dares another strike at the Riolu with a DRAGON PULSE.

Raki had been feeling pretty good about his performance so far, and Gwyar had been mentally checked out and just blankly staring right ahead for most of it.

Unfortunately, that was all about to change.

The point blank dragon pulse surged outwards, and Raki reflexively attempted to block an attack he couldn't dodge, arms crossing in front him in a guard-

He felt it on the inside of his chest- first the pain of the blast as it washed over him, then the stab from his shoulder blade as the pressure came down upon it.

The gagged and hiccuped, felt tears ride to his eyes, then brought his teeth crashing down onto his lip and swallowed down a shout as the blast came to a stop.

His entire body shuddered as he stood there and didn't move.

Gwyar snapped out of it when this unusual response registered.

"... Raki?" He spoke, his voice weary.

Raki simply yipped through a tightened jaw. He was still in this, damn it. He was tired of losing!

The pup’s reaction surprises Eva too. Her brows furrow, critically analyzing the situation. Raki didn’t look well. The Dragon Rush seemed to have affected him more than it should have. His reaction to Gwyar was promising, he wasn’t completely out of it and was aware of his surroundings. No command comes from Eva. In turn, the young Horsea doesn’t quite know what to do. It doesn’t feel comfortable attacking a pokemon that seemed, well, paralyzed? Knight isn’t quite sure what’ happening.

Come at him, come at him! He was ready, what the hell were they waiting for?!

The puppy grit its teeth and glared heatedly at his opponents.

Were they pitying him?!

The Riolu lifted its arms face level, flinching as a jolt traveled up the length of his arm but sticking to it all the same.

A roar left his maw as he reeled back his arms above his head, generating a large mass of draconic energy before launching it at his opponent!

Oh yeah, he’s not done yet. The Horsea squeaks as the sudden burst of draconic energy pushes it back into the sand. Another Copycat! He snorts, rising back up with pursed lips. Another swirl of draconic energy forms in front of him. The vortex rushes forward, aiming to catch the Riolu in the TWISTER’s force.

Raki clicks his tongue irritably as his opponent stood back up. It wasn't working, why did nothing ever work for him?!

As the twister's vortex force pulled inwards, the puppy attempted to stand strong against the current, planting his heels on the floor and lowering his stance, but its efforts were soon for naught.

The force pulled at the entirety of his body, exerted force on every inch, every limb.

A jolt traveled up his arm and he howled, his lowered stance turning into a kneeling position as the puppy's knees collapsed, his one good arm flying to his shoulder as tears began to well up in his eyes.

Gwyar's eyes grew wide, before he raised his voice.

"We surrender!" Shouted Gwyar over the roaring wind of the twister as he sprinted into the battlefield, going directly for his Riolu.

Raki’s reaction to the TWISTER worries Eva as well. She flinches, holding herself in place with tension rather than running out towards the Riolu. When Gwyar calls it and moves out onto the field, Eva does as well. She stops short, letting Gwyar reach his pokemon first. After a moment she speaks up, “Do you want me to look at him?” There’s obviously something wrong with his shoulder. Was he going to be emo and stubborn or accept her help? The Horsea drifts closer, a look of concern on his face.
