Palossand SHORES UP against the hyper beam, the move rendered INEFFECTIVE by its typing. If priam conrad didn't already have that marked off his scorecard, then he's in luck.

'Setup' turns out to be a surging ELECTRIC TERRAIN that crackles across the field as Cloyster targets Heatran with SUPERSONIC. Stray rocks strike them as they execute their moves, and Luxray's INTIMIDATING visage might dampen the Zigzagoon's assault but certainly doesn't stop their collision. The lion stumbles, snarling.

Two clicks, sharp, and Closter retracts into its shell to PROTECT itself from the thunderbolt. Gavin blinks rapidly in the flash of brightness.

Luxray targets the Heatran, utilizing the crackling terrain to pull WAVES OF THUNDER around the confused legendary.

Palossand is the only one to truly go on the offensive, sickly green energy swirling around the Tyranitar as it attempts to GIGA DRAIN the recharging titan's energy.

With Heatran paralyzed, his team can focus their attention elsewhere.

Earthquake hits all of Gavin's Pokemon, with only Palossand making it out relatively unscathed. Tyranitar identifies itself as public enemy number one with that little stunt, and a soft whistle and gesture from Gavin tells his Pokemon to focus on it.

Luxray lunges with FANGS OF ICE while Cloyster looks to trap it in a WHIRLPOOL. It pulls water from the nearby ocean to accomplish this interesting feat.

Palossand goes for another GIGA DRAIN, because the last one had worked well.

Victory felt upon downing the Tyranitar will be short-lived on account of the earth's power of revenge. As it falters, the Zigzagoon leaps for Luxray's face — in a last act of defiance, the lion looks to take a BITE out of the pesky rodent's leg.

It collapses afterward, fainted.

Heatran's weakened by prior attacks but doubtless bulkier than the Zigzagoon, so Gavin gestures for his Pokemon to focus on the ferret.

Palossand kicks up SCORCHING SANDS while Cloyster aims ICICLE SPEARS — five of them, to be precise, thanks to its SKILL LINK. One after the other, they fire like bullets from the clam's strange shell.

While it's still gloating from its attack, Cloyster fails to anticipate the incoming stone edge. There's a cry of alarm as it attempts to snap its shell shut and PROTECT its squishy innards, but a spike of stone pierces right through the barrier.

This was now a one-vs-one, and Palossand was built to stall.

With sand still falling across the battlefield, the ghastly castle STOCKPILES grains and blackens them to match its... complexion? Who knows?

Oh, dear. Poor Zigzagoon.

Gavin looks more apologetic than smug, though amusement registers clear in the press of his lips.

Another combatant might've chosen to concede the likely-unwinnable battle but Gavin has to admire priam conrad's tenacity. Palossand seems indifferent; it summons the SANDSTORM anew as its power begins to fade.

The pin missiles don't seem to do much, but Zigzagoon is doing his best and no one can fault him for it.
