Hubris really did have a way of catching up with anyone’s ass, didn’t it.

As the Golurk had materialized too close to where the Lucario leapt at, the attack did land, however the incoming attack was too fast to even process and the jackal Pokémon was sent hurtling backwards—rolling before coming to a crash near Alexei’s feet.

“Vincent!” he exclaimed, hoping the Lucario would get up—it didn’t.

At the sight of this, the Salamence roared and unleashed his fury in a singular, focused Flamethrower blast aimed at the Golurk.


Lucario is knocked out!

Finally, the Lucario was down. Bo grinned, proud. “Nice, Golurk!”

“Go high, now!”

His trainer saw the Salamence open its mouth, and his quick alert sent the Golurk ascending, the FLAMETHROWER only catching the bottom of its body and sending it tumbling back in the air wildly—but leaving it with just enough to stay in the battle.

“Good! Now, HAMMER ARM!”

Pushing through the air back towards the dragon, the other arm rounded towards it.

A valiant attempt at Dragon Claw was made as the Salamence lashed out, angered by the fall of his companion and ‘fighting partner’, but the Golurk moved quicker—

The flames grazed the bottom of the Golurk’s legs before the decisive Hammer Arm came spinning out of nowhere, landing a hit square in the jaw of the Salamence and knocking him down and out of the—

“Gabe!” he shouted, quickly pulling out the Moon Ball and recalling the falling creature. The Lucario was also recalled, as well.

“Damn, that was painful,” he remarked afterward. “Your Cradily really put us on the ropes there several times. Nice work.”


Salamence is knocked out! Bo wins!

Bo and Golurk watched the Salamence go down with a roar and disappear back into its pokeball. That was game. A grin broke across his face with pride at his second victory against a gym leader.

He returned the ghostly giant to its capsule as well, gold eyes remaining on Alexei.

“Thanks! Cradily’s one of my favorites. Works with me a lot out in the field, too.”

“We appreciate the battle. Maybe we’ll come to the gym for the badge some time!”

He waved as they took their leave, then.

“See ya later!”
