It was a case of right place at the right time. As they were checking the garden, a carnivine rustled the trees above. Houndoom clearly smelled it first, his head swiveling towards it. Lulu caught a whiff of the scent next, face wrinkling at the oddness of it. She spun to see the large grass pokemon staring at her, dripping saliva, looking hungry and violent.
Her dog growled, his head lowering between sharp shoulders as he bared teeth. His NASTY PLOT amped it up to battle, thinking of sinking sharp teeth into the toothy trespasser.
She nodded her chin its direction. “Go get it.”
It was all he needed. Her most well-trained beast lunged into top speed, breaking the distance between him and his opponent in seconds and leaping towards where it hung from the tree. Avoiding its saliva, his jaw closed around one of its vines in a wicked CRUNCH, causing the creature to flail wildly and deliver a close-range POWER WHIP to fling the hound off.
He slid across the ground, body half-covered in dirt when he stood up, glaring and soon beelining again. Flames licked from his mouth, and when he got close enough to focus on his target, he let loose an INFERNO which engulfed the hanging plant’s body, burning it until it was weakened.
Satisfied, Lulu decided to throw a pokeball at it. She didn’t have many grass types. |
