"What do you think?" The man asked the puppy as he finished watering the little mound of ice and dirt on the floors, his Riolu responding by patting the Earth gently and then grinning at him.

"Yes, I think it's going quite well, too." The man said gently as he stored the pail in a case, standing back up to his full height. The Shoal Caves didn't have much of worth to the man, but it seemed to be the only place in which those strange carrot seeds left in Tapu Bulu's wake would let themselves be planted.

Anywhere else and the seed would quite literally jump out of the dirt.

Quite perplexing!

Sometimes, it's difficult to manage unruly foxes is a real hassle, their excitement far too much to contain within mere tippy taps of their paws or barks that echo through the caves. As she loosens the soil a little to ensure it doesn't freeze over, Lilith is somewhat ready to call it a day, seating herself on the icy grounds as she allows her Vulpix and Zorua to climb over her lap.

"Why do you think they'd appear here of all places… And just many of them are out there?"

"I've no clue young lady, I only found out on accident myself." Came a voice nearby. As in, around right next to the group.

A massive blonde man sat there cross legged, hands resting on his knees in a meditative way.

On his lap sat a Riolu in a similar fashion- only this one was actually meditating, breathing in and out slowly.

"May I presume you've come searching for a horse as well, young lady?" The man asked cheerily as he looked at her, smile on his lips.

"Word has it that quite a few have been seen around hoenn as of late, eh?" Not too surprising, considering how many seeds had been spread by Tapu Bulu.

"Oh, but where are my manners? I am Sir Gwyar Wledig, of Freezington. A pleasure to make your acquaintance!"

[attr="class","hanatext"]For a moment, she forgets where she is, blinded by a notion of sheer panic as she spins around. A knife is drawn from her pockets, fangs bared by the two vulpines as they douse themselves in their trainer's instincts.

And yet, she doesn't find any threat to fend off, only a man that doesn't quite understand the meaning of not crossing paths with a stranger. Keeping the knife, she swallows a breath but the adrenaline is yet to leave her system.

"Glastrier roams these caves... but Spectrier... I'm uncertain."

The names he gives are one that she can immediately identify as distinctly Galarian. Perhaps, he knows more about these horses than she does - Knowing things about their temperament or preferences could aid her in trying to tame the beast for sure.

"Lilith..." She replies. There's no need nor desire to give her family name nor place of birth, and that much is conveyed by the way her Vulpix and Zorua seem to curl up defensively around her legs. "The idea of getting to see a Glastrier... interested me."

Gwyar blinked at the knife being pointed at him, slowly leaning back and away.

"Quite the reflexes you've got there, young lady." The man said dryly as his shifted posture shifted Raki's own... and the puppy promtply fell against his stomach, snoring loudly.

Little shit, he had been faking it again!

"Indeed; Spectrier's to be found within Mt. Pyre's limits, if the rumours are to be believed." He said as he reached down to cradle the sleeping puppy, pursing his lips at him as he lifted him up to eye level.

The Riolu's head craned back, snores coming out of him as drool rolled down his cheek.

"Merely seeing such a legendary figure after coming this far would surely be a waste, no?" The man said with a chuckle as he brought back the puppy to his lap, glancing over at the girl.

"As for myself, I was hoping to procure one's assistance." He said, cupping his chin. "They were not common per say, but let's say it was a lot less unusual to see the shadow of a Glastrier in my hometown of Freezington. If any of the legends regarding it are to be believed... he would be most helpful a companion."

Brisk as her apology may be, it still carries a hint of sincerity that she rarely expresses. It does help a little that her attention can hover to the sleeping Riolu, a brow raised at his antics as a smile crosses her expressions.

"I... did consider catching one. But not at the risk of any of my family..." Whether its the sight of a slumbering Riolu or the quiet whines of Yule and Eclipse, Lilith does lower her guard for the briefest of moments. Graceful is the way she takes a seat, even on the chilliest of grounds, her skirt meticulously adjusted before the two vulpines can begin to crawl all over her lap.

"I was just... hoping to see how it goes... I've never really been close to a legendary before. And well, the last time I did anything like this... almost got thrown off a cliff by someone else... wasn't really pleasant."

The girl shifts her sitting posture with grace as she apologizes, the man smiling in response. She mentioned her family but never quite finished her thought, but the man didn't pay much attention to that.

Her next words were far more important to an officer like himself.

"That seems like a dreadfully extreme reaction." The man said as he frowned, reaching into his jacket's pocket to produce a Sootopolis Police Department branded notepad and pen. Clicking the pen, the man began to write. "Do you perhaps have this person's name or any data on them?"

He hadn't intended to actually work on a weekend, but he couldn't hear about such terrible things and NOT pen it down for the future.

Oh, and there was that Electrode boy that tried to explode everyone... "Dr Eva Morales seemed to recognise him. He was wearing a mask, dark hair... had a Mega Audino, two Grimmsnarls, a Greninja and a Sylveon he referred to as Sylvie."

The memory aggravates her like salt in a fresh wound, that failure to negotiate properly against an unknown threat.

"He held Dr Eva hostage... had me hand him tree samples in exchange for her life. But then he snatched the samples and knowingly threw her off the cliff himself... It's one thing to be thrown by psychic energy... another to attempt murder."

Her Zorua and Vulpix jerk at the word, their tails drooped and their ears flattened. They hadn't been there but they could most certainly sense the animosity in her words. It had been a pain indeed, but had also served as a reminder of the Cressalia that had been spotted there.

Perhaps, she should go back to the area for a search sometime.

Gwyar's face froze as the girl recounted the events.

There was a slightly familiar ring to the events, not the least because of the way Eva Morales's name casually entered the conversation.

"Ah." He uttered as he finished writing. So that's how she had ended up so battered and injured. So this man was the one responsible for that.

"Yes, he was most likely a Rocket." He managed to say, wondering how the girl before him had found her way into one of the League's Excursions. "They interfered with League's operations all throughout April and May."

"Hn... Was anyone else present at the time, on either side? If any were maskless or unmasked throughout the struggle, with your account and the others', I can attempt a Facial Composite."

Raki moved in his lap, shifting from one awkward sleeping position to the next.

There's no way that she can describe his appearance without botching it somehow, but if there's something she's certain about, it's her ability to sketch things from memory. Pointing to the notepad, Lilith holds her other palm out expectantly. As soon as she gets her hands on the writing materials, she'll get to work on the sketch, the facts that have been spluttered stewing in her mind.

"How long has Rocket been active here for?"

A year? Perhaps, more? If they've taken such deep roots in this region, will she need to move to another quickly? What has her family chosen to do about such a threat? The only things distracting her from having a full-blown mental breakdown is the fact that Yule and Eclipse are there within her grasps.

"They've been in Hoenn for about four years now. Their first leader was eliminated 3 years ago and they were declared defeated and disbanded, but they've since made a public return several months ago."

For whatever reason, the League had been adamant about Team Rocket's defeat being definitive, and the people had been unwilling to hear any dissenting belief; it was a social faux pas to suggest otherwise.

To her last question, his answer came short, quick and firm.

"No."

Not even remotely. Even if one discounted the presence of team Rocket, the events that plagued the region, while making it worthy of an Urban Fantasy novel, were simply too hazardous for it to be worth raising a family there.

"But if one's a thrill seeker with little regard for their own wellbeing, 'tis certainly an ideal tourist spot."

He tilted his head at her.

"You came to this region without first looking into any of this, young lady? That's rather reckless."

The wonders of youth...

The disbandment of Rocket took place 3 years ago, she'd heard about that much. But the resurgence? She's losing her touch for information gathering, isn't she?

"I just want a place I can be free. Ideally, I don't want to get in any trouble." It's neither a lie, nor is it a statement that unravels her truth. Not ever having the need to look over her shoulders, nor worry about being found when she tries to close her eyes at night - She's been living as close to a regular life as anyone can get. Or at least, that's how she perceives it to be.

"I figured things were under control here."

"Well, depending on what you qualify as 'free', I suppose Hoenn might well be the place."

If you were a criminal with little to no scrupples, Hoenn was apparently the hot tourist spot to visit and ruin for everyone.

"I personally would recommend Galar, but 'tis my home, so I am very biased."

Unfortunately for her, things would never be 'under control' until they burned Rocket to the ground and put everyone involved either in a cell or a casket.

"'Fraid not, young lady. If you seek a measure of security however, there's a few cities were your safety is less of a gamble. Slateport and Mauville have made great strides in recent years."

Slateport specially, under the powerful purview of Silph Co. There would be no Second Occupation in that place.

Way colder than the climate she's used to, but she's adapted after spending a few weeks there. Slipping back into her memories draws a lengthy sigh from her lips; She wonders if Rowan is staying safe even amidst this chaos.

With her sketch more or less finished, the notebook is handed back to its rightful owner with a light flourish, pen aligned perfectly along the spine with pen nib retracted. "I'll take a look around those areas. Many thanks for your assistance, Sir Wledig."

The cleaner a place is, the darker the secrets it holds - Given the track record of flourishing cities, she's sure that she'll be able to find ways back to her roots if she so as much asserted her identity. But for now, she's still vastly unprepared to face the monsters that lurk beneath.

"So, do you require tips on how to take care of your carrots...? Or are you simply going to wing it?"
