To be so bold as to say yes felt inappropriate - and to express doubt was unacceptable. She chooses the middle ground, opts to be mildly sarcastic or teasing. She walks a fine line, she's sure, but she's deemed it the best option.[break][break]

Suzu remains quiet and observant as the man next to her continues his story. At the mention of its name, the giant Pyroar lifts its massive head. The yawn is a warning, she knows; a reminder.

"Indeed, neither of which are a trait you now possess, I'm sure, sir."

But where Gabriel appeared to wear his scars with pride, Suzu feels discomfort trickle down the back of her neck from the unwanted attention.

His made him look the noble, brave hero. Hers made her look like the damsel in distress, the unfortunate fool, the weak to be pitied.

He doesn't confirm or deny and frankly she hadn't expected him to. It had been a subtle attempt to pry, to see behind the closed blinds and locked doors.

She moves on just as quickly.

Where he lifts his hand to dap at his face, she does too. Though she hesitates a moment when he stands, unsure what to do in the moment - she hadn't yet been dismissed.

And apparently, she wasn't about to be. He beckons for her and she rises from her seat to meet him. There is a respectful distance kept, but she follows behind him all the same.

"Of course, sir."

they walk onwards and past the double-set of doors that lead further into the large house. heavy, but surprisingly quiet steps follow, as the pyroar maintain their distances.

despite the house's size, it was largely empty; hollow, and lifeless.

he's silent for a time, his face an unreadable, flat expression. only as they round a corner, passing one of the many cleaning staff, does he speak again.

Heavy paws behind them do not go unnoticed. It leaves her tense and she can only hope that it is not noticeable. But the hunted look in her eye is hard to miss, the idle glancing over her shoulder, however discreet.

While they walk, Suzu idly takes into account how enormous the house is- and how quiet. Does he live alone? No, because she'd seen the servants shuffling off to resume their duties.

But there was no movement anywhere, no sign of life, nothing. She could only assume Gabriel's children were around the same age as URIAH BLACK, which helped paint the picture of children flown the coop.

"It is very empty, sir."

Perhaps that wasn't what he wanted to hear. Suzu remains quiet, ignoring the flashing red light at the back of her mind. His response is clipped, uncomfortably patient, and it makes her nervous.

"Mmm.."

She responds respectfully to his comment on his son. Had he not sent her to his house once before to follow him? Evidently, he did know where the kid lives. It didn't occur to her that Uriah wished to not be found. He should do a better job in hiding.

Gabe reaches into his pocket and she glances down toward it, gaze lifting back to meet his gaze whether he met hers in return or not. She is calm.

"No, sir."

Did he want her to do so before delivering letters? Surely not. This was another test.

Fortunately, she hadn't been stupid enough to read it herself.
