Cats are absolutely adorable, even when they're vicious little demons that look to claw your eyes out. This is a viewpoint that Ryuuzaki vows he will stand by and one that he wishes to pass onto his sister, who probably thinks otherwise.

"I mean, look at the little toebeans... and they can be pretty friendly! Look at Meowstics, Littens, Liepards... Meowths are pretty cool too."

Of course, Ryuuzaki knows that Suzu isn't someone who can be convinced by words alone, so he's more than happy to provide her with first-hand experiences with the felines themselves. And what better way to do it than an impromptu session of cat rescue offloaded onto him by his colleagues? Oh, he'll make them pay for it later.

Suzume's face is pinched in a permanent expression of disgust and disbelief. On her shoulder, her Spearow buries into her neck painfully, sharp claws threatening to tear at skin and fabric alike.[break][break]

"Those little toebeans have daggers attached to them, you know that right? One wrong step and you've lost an eye."[break][break]

The same could be said for birds, but strip them of their wings and feathers and you have a grounded, useless animal. Cats didn't need to fly to rip your heart out.[break][break]

Slowly, Suzu looks up at the tree in question, and Ryuu's prattling becomes a lot more annoying than even she's expecting. Is he daft?[break][break]

"Are you seriously going to compare me to a cat? That's low, Ryuu."

It's almost like their childhood all over again, his stupidity contrasted by her honesty and brains.

"Every living being has instincts to protect themselves, so getting scratched just points to you scaring them in some form." He only says this because he's never really been scratched by them himself. For one reason or another, he's always been able to get along with pokemon, barring the occasional one trying to bite his hand off. "I mean, am I wrong though? I couldn't take my eyes off you for even a minute."

His eyes drift to the Spearow that perches upon her shoulder, the way those claws dig in deep. Like trainer, like pokemon, the disdain for these felines seem to be shared amongst the duo. Pulling a pokeball from his pouch, Ryuuzaki calls upon his trusty Corviknight, the majestic giant extending his wings as he spares his trainer a sideward glance.

"Mind checking things out up there? We're looking for a cat."

The look he is given in response is instantaneously recognisable, that same look of absolute disgust even as he begrudgingly flaps his wings and takes to the sky.
