It irks him to have to go from one bloody case to another, with barely any time allowed for him to clean his knives before he's expected to dispatch of the next traitor. What's happening with Hoenn's organisation that they've allowed so many problems to fester and grow to being such nuisances? A meteorite that's going to end the region? Extradimensional invaders? Really? How often does such things happen that he can afford to give such a weak smile in the face of his fears? Ryuuzaki really would have supposed that the rangers would be considerate enough to consider an individual's fitness for the task at hand... Then again, something about the rangers being short-handed and stuff, right?[break][break]

"Welp, I'll distract them if you ever need an escape." He jokes, ignoring the chilly nip at his ankles from a rather annoyed Glaceon. "And yeah, that's a pretty good guess but you never know till you get right into it."[break][break]

So he calls out his Corviknight, climbing onto its back in one swift motion before beckoning it to fly. With how choppy the water is with the mass of swarming Sharpedos and crashing waves, it's hard to make anything out for certain. But where there is blood, there is injury or death that he has to address.[break][break]

It's easier said than done when considering that these Sharpedo are probably drowning in stimulus. And yet, Huginn manages to dissuade a few from approaching the funky fish party with a Scary Face.[break][break]

The fact that she doesn't show up in the living room with a giant bear in tow gives him a slight peace of mind. And so he's a little kinder in stirring the mug full of hot chocolate, making a quick cup of green tea for himself before walking to hand it over.[break][break]

"4 in the morning is considered late by many conventional standards." Settling on the couch gives him an opportunity to take a sip of his tea, "Are you sure you're not cold? You can grab a quick shower and toss your stuff into the laundry."[break][break]

Though she does try to check for signs of sea sickness, Ryuuzaki isn't one to let discomfort show in front of others. Instead, he focuses on releasing the Wishiwashi from the hook, giving the roof of its mouth a once over before letting it sit in a cooler he'd already filled with seawater.[break][break]

Like @stela, Ryuuzaki seems perfectly at ease. Perhaps, even meditating in those rare slivers of silence he snags. The sea breeze brushes through a loose shirt, running across his shoulders and tracing the many scars and odd tattoos he's kept throughout the years.[break][break]

"You're talking to someone who works with marine creatures for a living." He deadpans back, shifting to let Skadi laze comfortably at his feet as he throws a line. "The only real reason why I'd be seasick is if you were horrible at steering this boat."[break][break]

"Maybe you'd get that feel back home if you actually lived in it." He sighs back, quietly eyeing the bright red button that could probably end most of his suffering. As she begins to rap her knuckles against his window and drop bear pun after bear pun, he begins to question why he even knows this person to begin with. And perhaps in some part of his gently fragmented mind, he's feeling his fingers just itching to grab a knife.

But things can be solved with methods far less cruel and messy, a whistle through the halls garnering a clattering of objects in response. Soon, an Audino comes waddling down the hallways with bundles of towels in tow, chirping with a smile as she calmly opens the door.

"Make sure they dry off before they step in, Holly. You know what Skadi's like if she wakes up to a mess." And perhaps, that is a warning to @stela in some way - A rather nicely rephrased 'Fuck around and find out', if you will.

The Audino gives a salute, turning to offer up the towels and pausing to stare a little at the Ursaring. When she's somewhat dry, or at the very least, not dripping water all over the place, Holly finally lets her in. And the Ursaring too if it so wishes, though she does seem a little wary of the giant beast. Regardless, she leads the way with little pitter pattering footsteps, ushering Stela right into the living room.

A dim light flickers, illuminating the entire room but not quite blinding its inhabitants. It's rather simple in terms of decoration: Pillows and throws strewn over the couch, beanbags sat in the corner right next to a shelf of books and odd trinkets. Several more books lay on the coffee table, crowded around a set of papers with cursive handwriting and blunt pencils. Clinical trial research papers, reports on new disease outbreaks, perhaps one or two articles on the strange phenomenon of illumina...

Steady hands sweep across the table, gathering the materials into one neat stack before it's placed to the side. Then come the clinking of ceramic mugs, cupboards creaking as he searches through their contents.
