It's good to be on the open water, even when rain batters them down mercilessly. As Temp leads them further from shore, Ryuuzaki is keeping an eye on the additional sailors, beckoning for Lily to move closer. Daggers shoot through the veil of rain, landed precisely between the eyes as a frigid Ice Beam solidifies the knives position in their heads. One by one, they're picked off, their bodies dropping into the waters like a pathetic game of dominos.

The crackling of their comms catches his attention, a brief hand signal giving Lir the go ahead as Ryuuzaki taps into the channel. "Temp's honestly quite good at creating a distraction." Leaning over to peer into the water, how satisfying it feels to be unable to locate even a single trace of his victims thus far. "We shouldn't have much problems cleaning up."

In the mean time, the Vaporeon steadily closes the gap between him and the target, picking up speed with every beat of his tail. And when Sarah remains just within his grasp, he leaps clean of the water in a brilliant arc over the boat, his jaws locking as he viciously Bites down onto the traitor's shoulder and drags her into the churning waters below. The rain is quick to cover his tracks, the leader of this wild goose chase left in shock as her attention turns from the arrest of Tempest Quinn to the rescue of her colleague.

And yet, she may just be too late. The icy waters gnaw at Sarah's body, threatening to send it into shock as the thought of resurfacing taunts her. No matter how much Sarah attempts to struggle, she only loses precious oxygen.

The part that sucks about having to keep appearances up is that you have to watch your actions, even in situations of life or death. The urge to simply pull a knife on this ravenous Sharpedo is barely quelled by the look that his Primarina shoots him, the muffled gurgles of panicked Corsola forcing him to pick up speed and continue swimming.

But just as he releases a few Corsola back to their group, he's slammed away, winded briefly as his eyes flick to the sight of wide open, crimson maws. Twisting to avoid the grasps of death, pain spreads through his body like a wildfire, ignited by the grand bite taken into his shoulder. Before the Sharpedo can begin to shake and sink those teeth further in, it's blasted away by a furious blast of Icy Winds, water freezing upon its fins as it tumbles through open waters.

The Primarina is quick to swim back to her trainer, allowing him to grab on as she begins to create some distance. Her notes are a little off from the sheer amount of adrenaline that pulses through her veins but sure enough, she's humming a Song in hopes of placating their pursuer for the briefest of moments. With any luck and a little more of a push, it might just get tired out.

It's almost like their childhood all over again, his stupidity contrasted by her honesty and brains.

"Every living being has instincts to protect themselves, so getting scratched just points to you scaring them in some form." He only says this because he's never really been scratched by them himself. For one reason or another, he's always been able to get along with pokemon, barring the occasional one trying to bite his hand off. "I mean, am I wrong though? I couldn't take my eyes off you for even a minute."

His eyes drift to the Spearow that perches upon her shoulder, the way those claws dig in deep. Like trainer, like pokemon, the disdain for these felines seem to be shared amongst the duo. Pulling a pokeball from his pouch, Ryuuzaki calls upon his trusty Corviknight, the majestic giant extending his wings as he spares his trainer a sideward glance.

"Mind checking things out up there? We're looking for a cat."

The look he is given in response is instantaneously recognisable, that same look of absolute disgust even as he begrudgingly flaps his wings and takes to the sky.

Confidence? Perhaps, it is so. Ryuuzaki can say that he's calm and if anything, intrigued by how things are unfolding before his very eyes. But to describe himself as confident... he isn't so sure if his palms are cold because they're clammy at this point of time.

The fingers that dig in alert him to the pride of a predator, that attitude that merely wishes to size him up and cut him down into smaller pieces for all the bravery he's spoken with.

A glint flashes between them, familiar and oh so riveting when he realises the weight it has in his hand. In his grasp is Nikolai's blade, the exact same one that was drawn to make him quiver, the knife that had traced his heart. A petty trick like pickpocketing really isn't much, but it's a fun little stunt that he can pull off with all that he has within reach.

Cats are absolutely adorable, even when they're vicious little demons that look to claw your eyes out. This is a viewpoint that Ryuuzaki vows he will stand by and one that he wishes to pass onto his sister, who probably thinks otherwise.

"I mean, look at the little toebeans... and they can be pretty friendly! Look at Meowstics, Littens, Liepards... Meowths are pretty cool too."

Of course, Ryuuzaki knows that Suzu isn't someone who can be convinced by words alone, so he's more than happy to provide her with first-hand experiences with the felines themselves. And what better way to do it than an impromptu session of cat rescue offloaded onto him by his colleagues? Oh, he'll make them pay for it later.

"One cute thing about them is that they're dumb enough to climb trees and spontaneously forget how to climb back down!" He hums, allowing his gaze to wander up the tree and into the sprawling network of leafy branches up above. "It's kind of like how you were as a kid!"

Though he's more than capable of sensing the threat before it even arrives, Ryuuzaki does appreciate the fact that his partner is keeping a lookout. As soon as the Sharpedo charges, it's game on.

As his Primarina fires a Hydro Pump to create a temporary barrier between Corsola and Sharpedo, Ryuuzaki is already swimming towards the pack, scooping up any of those thrown off course and shepherding the rest as best as he can. But it's clear that things won't be as simple as that, not with the awakening of Mantines that slumber under the sand.

While they don't look to consume the Corsola, the sudden tidal shifts can prove detrimental to the Colony's escape from their ravenous predator. Muffled as they are, the Corsola all seem to call out to each other with nervous chirps and chatters, some huddling together whilst others attempt to help fend the attacker off with Bubble Beams of their own.

Shooting a brief glance towards Lisa, Ryuuzaki watches as the Primarina slams her body right into the Sharpedo to veer it off course. It's not something that will leave a lasting scar but the minor scrapes left from the Rough Skin will definitely sting with the saltwater. He'll make it up to her later that's for sure, but for now it's best he focuses on catching any stray Corsola and warding the Mantine away from the colony itself.

"Alright, alrighty, princess. Let's get going." Laughing at the sheer audacity she presents, Ryuuzaki shrugs and falls backwards into the water, his fingers clasping onto shimmering scales as his Primarina swims back to serve as his guide. For a moment, he surfaces, swimming right to her and grabbing her hand just to place an earpiece in it.

"Just so you know, I'll be diving deep under. You can use this to keep in touch with me, especially if anything dangerous crops up, got it?" He trusts that she's capable of protecting herself but he really doesn't want to risk it in the off chance. "Scream or yell or I don't know, call me a rotten Chansey egg? I'll resurface as quick as possible to lend you a hand."

With that, he gives her a goofy grin and a salute, pulling his googles over and latching onto his Primarina as she drags him deeper into the waters. There, on the sandy depths, is a colony of corsola, slow in their migration as the current pushes them along. He's unable to spy any Mareanies or other threats just yet but he's sure that they'll be out there somewhere.

Maybe Alice would have a better chance at spying them?
