his grin lingers, then grows as he bounces the ball into her cup.

he's allowed a moment to gather himself after the ball sinks into the cup, breathing a sigh of relief before laughing. he shakes his head; eyes feigning a glare.

"don't you dare."

and then she sinks one in return. his head hangs low for a long while before he accepts it. picking up the cup, he downs the beer in one.

"fuck that was bad but we're good, we're good."

even in his drunken state, he understands that if he's to sink this next shot, then the game would be over, and likely, their night. he doesn't want it to end just yet.

so he misses the shot on purpose, though does his best to put on an act, which isn't difficult to do.

The thing with drinking fast is that it can be like a ticking time bomb. One minute you’re perfectly fine, and the next the realization that you’re drunk comes like a slap in the face.

Sol feels dizzy, and she hates the feeling.

It was a moment ago that she realized how drunk she was getting, but she really had underestimated the amount of beer they’ve been drinking.

So, honestly, the fact that he misses his shot comes as a relief, despite the fact that she can tell he did it on purpose even while being as drunk as she is.

Sol doesn’t bother with pretending though. Instead, she just holds his gaze with a smirk, as if daring him to question it.

he takes her smirk as enough of an acceptance, so without waiting for a response, he steps away to approach the bar, leaning against it to order them their next drinks. he waits there for a moment but soon returns not with two beers, but with two very fancy-looking cocktails.

[attr="class","uriah"]it's definitely not the fanciest of cocktails; quite the opposite, given how this bar isn't exactly known for their ability to make drinks. if anything, this is the absolute wrong place to order something as delicate as a cosmopolitan.

because after a sip, the only thing he can taste is the vodka.

which he almost never drinks. in fact, does he really drink anything besides cheap beer?
