It’s not exactly true though. There was a time when Sol pretended and drank champagne and wine because it was the girly thing to do and the kind of thing her mum liked. A time when they were close and did a lot of things together – when they would dress up in order to go have dinner at fancy restaurants. Sol never liked wine, so she always pretended for the sake of her mum. Now she doesn’t have to pretend anymore, and she’s glad.

Of course, even while drunk, these are not things she will easily share with Uriah, but the thought does passingly cross her mind as she approaches the bar.

She has a short conversation with the barkeep, and after a couple of minutes, she returns with their drinks.

”For the record, I haven’t done jager bombs since uni. I can’t believe you’re making me do this.”

‘Making me do this’, as if she doesn’t have a choice. She does, of course, and this she’s well aware of.

his posture straightens when she approaches again, smiling as he reaches out for his drink.

"i'm not making you do anything, sol, but don't worry i'll carry you out of here."

if that's even possible because who knows what'll happen after this drink. with a sigh, he holds the glass up towards her, reaching for the smaller shot glass inside to pick it up.

"good luck to us."

and after toasting, he tips the shot glass over, then downs the drink in one.

Whatever the barkeep may have said about Uriah, Sol mostly ignored and smiled at. Even when drunk, the words of a stranger matter little to her, but she does think it’s kind of sweet and maybe even agrees with a few of the things said by the barkeep – even if she may never voice this.

It definitely isn’t brought up when she returns to the table, as if it was all forgotten the moment she turned away. But, she does smile at Uriah, chuckling at his response.

”I doubt you could after this, but thanks for the sentiment. So very sweet.”

There’s a smirk, and she mirrors his actions: picking up the shot glass while holding the other towards him.

”If I die, I’m coming to haunt you.”

And with that, she drops the shot glass, downing her drink before giving herself any more time to second guess it.

Sol had almost forgotten how awful jager tastes, and combined with the red bull, it sure packs a punch from the very first second. She manages to swallow it somehow, and after that comes the rush of energy...

This, of course makes her pause. But, she doesn’t hate it, and she doesn’t tell him to move or try to smack his hand away. She does raise an eyebrow though, her gaze never leaving his as she chuckles:

so he does. he tilts his hand to squish her cheek, returning her grin with one of his own.

"cute of you to think you could kick my ass."

and though he laughs, he knows she definitely could. he's not much of a fighter, just a troublemaker, really.

his hand falls back to his side and it's then that he realizes just how nice it felt.

He squishes her cheek, and while they’re already flushed because of all the alcohol, those pink hues only deepen. It’s not often that Sol blushes, but it’s also not often that she’s this drunk, or that someone dares do something as bold as this.

So, the snarky and joking retort that should be there isn’t, and instead she just looks at him until he lets go.

When he does, her own hand raises to her cheek, and while there’s a sigh, there’s also a light chuckle.

Of course he is. He has been. Sol isn’t stupid enough not to have noticed this.

Of course she has noticed, but while a sober Sol would remind herself of all the reasons why allowing Uriah to hit on her is a terrible idea, her drunk self doesn’t consider this. Or, maybe she does, but she chooses to ignore it because this kind of situation may be one of the only times when she puts what she wants above her job and career.
