There are shouts from the table that Lana approached, a handful of chips he’d found from under the slot machines clutched to his chest. Activity was booming, and there was a mix of players at the card table. Lana slipped through to take a peek at the source. One of the players, an older man with a stack of chips being pushed towards him by the dealer, sat unmoving. How long had they been sitting here? [break][break]

He was sure he’d heard the cheers and shouts from the entrance when he’d first arrived. Not that he’d kept that well track. “Hey kid, wanna play?” one of the spectators asked as they more or less drunkenly shoved him into an open chair next to the winner of the last round. “Uh-” he managed before flopping down with his chips. [break][break]

“He ain’t got nothing to bet with!” [break]
“Give him some then, why not?” [break]
“Maybe Lady Luck will take a shine on the newbie!” another added as the tossed colorful chips in front of Lana, who carefully set down his own. He didn’t even know how to play this game. The dealer eyed him before looking over at the rest of the players. Some grinning in anticipation with that competitive streak lit in them, other grimly staring down the actual high stakes player as the dealer handed out their hands. [break][break]

while his pokemon did the actual work of rigging rolls and whatnot, victor had settled into his one and only past time. gambling. the thrill of winning was far better than anything else he dealt with normally. and the fact that he was extremely good at it meant that he was prepared to do anything to win. until a ratty looking... person... was shoved next to him instead of his actual opponent.

there was no thrill in winning against someone who had no actual money. borrowed chips meant nothing when he wouldn't have the money to pay off whatever debts he accrued here. especially if he got addicted. "are you sure you want to do this?" his voice was even, neutral perhaps. "just give me your chips." he held his hand out for them. "i'll put them against someone who'll lose even more." maybe then this guy would leave.

Lana trembled as he tried to get his bearings together. The group of thugs that had seated him next to the current table winner, laughing as they watched and then helped, Lana’s dirty Linoone clamber onto his owner’s lap and watch the rolls with him. Lana sighed quietly, happy that Garbage Baby at the very least was here to keep him calm through this whole ordeal. He’s led too obscure of a life to know how to play this game or even begin guessing how to bet. At the offer of the winner from the previous rounds he flinched looking up at him and considering the offer. However, before he can even hand over the chips one of the drunks interrupts. [break][break]

“Now hold on there, sonny, let the boy try his luck. You feelin’ generous y’cangive him your chips too.” A hand clamped down on Lana’s shoulder and suddenly he sensed he wasn’t actually a player anymore, but a scapegoat. The hand despite it all was firm and held him down with a surprising amount of strength. He shrunk in his seat, practically wilting before the dealer called him to play and try to explain to him his options. He was sweating as he felt eyes on him. He just barely glanced to the side trying to catch Victor’s attention before it was his turn. He pushed the chip forward. Timidly only betting a couple at a time. "H-Hit me...?"
