The sun was barely past the horizon, and even behind his sunglasses, Lana’s eyes hurt. His loyal companion for the day hid from the morning sun in his shadows, frowning whenever he made himself visible. OR at least, frowning as much as a little Drifloon could, one tendril like limb clinging to the back of Lana’s shirt. “Mike…you can always take a dip in the water if you’re too hot.” He murmured, maroon eyes on the ground as he kicked a bit of sand over and used his little claw stick to pick up a chip bag. A couple of seashells fell out with the crumbs. “It’s quiet…I can manage on my own.” He added noting that wherever the other volunteers were, they hadn’t been too preoccupied with him. As he said that Mike’s little hands moved up to his scalp before quickly ruffling up his hair much to a half shout, half giggle from his trainer. “Stop! We’re working!” he yelled as he dropped his bag of trash. “Oh- shit-!”

The assault that ruslan skye was taking would not be helped- only added to.

After the tragic dropping of his bag of trash, and dealing with the Drifloon pulling from behind, there would be a sudden tug from the front. At the end of the grabber stick he had been given, a ghostly vine having wrapped around it and tugging. A small bit of laughter, a tiny Pumpkaboo peeking out from the shadow of the bag. How long had she been lurking under there?

"Puree? Pu-re-eee?"

The Pumpkaboo would huff and let the grabber go, dipping back into the ground. A young man would approach, his own grabber and trash-bag in hand, concerned.

He spotted Ruslan quickly.

"Oh my!"

One would think someone finding someone else being attacked by a pokemon would be concerned or try to help, yet Ciel just stopped when within a comfortable social distance.

"What a lovely Drifloon! Why, the elasticity of the body looks amazing! Is this pokemon yours?"

A smile given, lighting up his face brighter than the sun beating down on them.

Lana felt a small yank forward and let out a small grunt as he stumbled forward before catching himself. He checked the sand immediately for a wild pokemon before his eyebrows knit together as he looked down at the little Pumpkaboo. “Isn’t it a little early for you…?” he asked as he lifted his bag away from the dual type. [break][break]

When Ciel approached he can’t help but take a step backwards nervous at how easily he greeted him. Mike, however, seemed enthusiastic that the trainer asked for her. Most sort of assumed she was a balloon…or hid their kids. She floated forwards, circling Ciel slowly, inflating a bit as she did before ruffling one side of his head in greeting. “Ah- Mike! You can’t be so touchy with s-strangers!” Lana hissed, trying wave off the flying ghost away from the brunette. “Y-Yeah, she’s with m-me.” He added, frowning at his pokemon’s behavior. He didn’t want her giving the other and excuse to stay. Lana nodded in the direction he’d seen the Pumpkaboo from. “Yours?” he echoed, though far more blunt and with far less eye contact than Ciel had. “They’re cute.” He added, his compliment much more quieter than he’d meant it to be.
