He was about to turn around and head back without the one Fire-type he’d come in search of…when his PokéGear started vibrating. What was more interesting was the fact that instead of the five-second burst vibration that had been falsely triggered three or so times, this didn’t stop vibrating…
It was like a belated heavenly choir singing praises his way. As one, both Alexei and Cherre turned around to face the female version of what they were looking for…before it suddenly lashed with a Fake Out attack before the Squirtle could blink!
“Whoa, okay that’s not nice…” he said, squinting at the Salandit, who was now seemingly snickering in his direction—before continuing with an explosion of Ember sparks on the Water-type. “Cherre, I know you’ve been itching to get a good fight. Give it a good one,” he added, watching as the Squirtle retaliated with a Water Pulse attack, catching and extinguishing the Fire-type attack.
A few moments later, the Salandit then spat out bubbling, noxious orbs of Toxic poison at close range—which gave the Squirtle a split-second to react. “Cherre! Dodge—“ he called out, but unfortunately the Water-type had been beaned full in the face with the Poison-type attack.
Oh, shit, he thought, his mind quickly going into overdrive. “Cherre, end it quickly!” he went on as the Salandit was coming in with a Venoshock attack before being met full in the face with a Hydro Pump from the Water-type, forcing it backward before a Double Slap came ringing out of nowhere.
A second Water Pulse caught it off-guard, before another point-blank Hydro Pump propelled the Salandit backwards, and before it could slam into a rock a beam of red light shot out, capturing it within the depths of Alexei’s final Safari Ball that he threw at the dual-type…
*cue angelic choir* Catching the female Salandit!
