Would the apartment have been a factor on whether or not they ended up together? Maybe, maybe not. Likely the latter considering she hadn’t been here since that one morning after the bar, and yet they still ended up together. She definitely wouldn’t have been happy with staying at a messy apartment, though...

”Do you want my honest thoughts, or do you want me to be nice?”

She hasn’t even tried the lasagna yet, but she smirks at him, because as if Sol would ever lie for the sole sake of being nice. Not even for Uri.

Then again, she knows she’ll probably like it before even giving the lasagna a try, and this is confirmed when she brings her fork up and takes the first bite.

”Hmmm…”

It’s good. It’s great, actually, but of course she’ll add suspense.

She wants to take a second bite, but she resists the urge for the sake of looking at him, violet eyes meeting his and holding the stare for a few seconds that probably seem like a small eternity.

”You sure it’s not missing anything?”

Despite her words, she smiles, because it definitely is not. It’s perfect. It’s great.

This is proven when she reaches for more with her fork.

”It’s really good, Uri. Like... Really good.”

Honestly, it’s really cute.

Or, at least Sol thinks so, but she’s obviously extremely biased when it comes to Uri – even if she’d never tell him so. Those things don’t need to be said, for they should be obvious enough...

”Hmmm.... nine point five.”

Once more, she’s only teasing him, and there’s a smirk that comes with her words.

After all, it’s easily that her attention returns to enjoying her meal, and that in itself says a lot, especially considering how Sol usually takes her sweet time with her food.

”I like the parmesan sauce, it’s more flavourful than ricotta… Ricotta does have a nice texture, though.”

”Oh, I’m not telling you what the missing point five is. You’ll have to figure that out yourself.”

Of course.

It wouldn’t be fun otherwise, would it?

In a way, it may just be a way to ensure that he makes her lasagna again, even if she knows well that he’d do so if she just asked him directly.

”Guess you’ll just have to try different things until you manage a ten.”

All for a point five that never actually existed to begin with.

’Am I ten?’

At these words, she pauses, glancing at him. Leave it to Uri to ask something like that in one of the most unflattering ways possible: casually, out of the blue, and while still eating.

This may be why an eyebrow is raised, setting her fork down and turning to properly look at him.

”Do you think you’re a ten?”

Shouldn’t he know the answer to that question without needing to ask her?

He should, for she wouldn’t be with him if she thought little of him, and that much should be obvious.

He’s an idiot.

A fool, a dumbass, and also dozens of other adjectives that cross Sol’s mind while she listens to him rate himself. Why does he even need to rate himself? What’s the point? Is he seeking compliments from her, or is this his insecurities showing themselves?

”Uri.”

He may be an idiot, but he’s her idiot. And her fool. And her dumbass. And, maybe that’s why she sighs, reaching for him as if she’s going to caress his cheek…

She flicks his forehead instead, obviously.


”Take it back.”

He is an idiot, because the point isn’t if he’s a ten or not. The point is that those things don’t matter at all, that Uri is Uri, and that if Sol thought little of him, she wouldn’t be with him.

That’s how simple things are to her.

”Good. I’m not giving you a rating.”

Just so it’s made clear.

But, she knows that could make him doubt, so while meeting his gaze, she makes a small but significant addition:

”You’re great just the way you are, Uri.”

After that, she just goes back to eating her lasagna, as if nothing just happened.
