Does Sol like “girly things”? It would be hard to tell by the way she looks when in uniform, but it’s not as if any of those things are her choice. On days when Sol is enjoying her free time, like she is on this one, she will always wear ‘cute’ and fashionable outfits – favouring dresses above all things. She will always let her hair down, she will always wear carefully-applied makeup, and she will even go through the effort of painting her nails. Are those “girly things”? Maybe, maybe not, but her interest in them definitely started with her mother’s influence and with things like princess movies…

”I guess so? I just like what I like.”

Truly, exactly the kind of answer that should be expected from her. An honest one, but still as unhelpful as ever.

”Ten times, really? Why so many? Do you like it that much?”

Resting against Uri, she continues to pet the Luxray while watching the movie

at her question, he hesitates for a moment, then decides to answer truthfully.

"i do! it's just really sweet and it makes me feel warm and safe. and i've always wanted to watch it with my partner."

That’s what they are, isn’t it? Partners.

Sol doesn’t move from where she is, nor does she turn to look at him. She simply stays where she is, watching the movie, and gently, she reaches for his hand, giving a squeeze.

”That’s cute.”

Why hasn’t he watched it with any of his partners before her, though? Does that mean he hasn’t actually dated anyone before her?

It seems a bit hard to believe, so without turning away from the screen, the question is asked casually:

”Did you really not watch it with anyone before me?”

No matter what Uri may think of himself, Sol has never thought him to be a loser. A dumbass? Sometimes. An idiot? Definitely. But, never a loser…

Despite his words, that still doesn’t change even now, but she does pull away just so slightly in order to look at him – her attention no longer on the movie.

”Really? No one? Not even like… one of those week-long relationships in highschool?”

It’s not really strange that she’s his first girlfriend, even at their age, but it is surprising to her.

uri's never been particularly good with girls. even at frat parties, despite being the life of the party, he could never find anyone to date. but that could be because he'd often blackout and forget the night before.

Awful at understanding other people and showing her emotions as Sol may be, she definitely has more than a couple of past relationships. None lasted long and most didn’t mean much to her, but they had happened nevertheless, because such things seemed to come almost inevitably…

Being with Uri is different in many ways, but that’s not something she’ll tell him just yet.

”No, it’s not weird, it’s just surprising… You’re really nice, fun, and good looking, so I figured you must have at least dated someone before.”

Her answer is honest and comes with a shrug, as if she doesn’t even realize she’s complimenting him when she does as much. Which she really doesn’t, since to Sol, all those things are obvious about him.

the compliments are unexpected, and so when they come his way, his attention departs from the movie as well. he turns to look at her, unable to hide the goofy smile on his face.

"wow that's three compliments in a row, sol. are you okay?"

he chuckles, then kisses her cheek.

"nah. a lot of my firsts are going to be with you."

A goofy smile. A chuckle. A kiss on her cheek. These are all things she should expect from him.

In a way, she does, but they still somehow surprise her when they come together like that. They make her smile; faint as this smile may be in comparison to his. She could never smile like him.

”I was just being honest.”

She shrugs dismissively, but following these words, she too leans in to kiss his cheek.

”What other firsts?”

Of course, she's mostly teasing him, but she may also be a little curious...

the kiss on his cheek makes him feel warm.

"hmmm, i mean i've had sex before."

a few times, actually, but he's not about to disclose all their names to her.

"but this was the first time i cooked for my partner if we don't count that one morning."

they weren't dating then so he's not too sure if he should count it. still, it's a nice memory to look back on.

This time, she’s obviously teasing him, as made clear by the way she smirks at him.

How could she not, when he says something like that? It’s almost like he’s asking for it…

She looks at him, gently, her hands cups his cheeks.

She wouldn’t do those things with him if she didn’t enjoy them, after all. To her, this is obvious, but as per usual, Sol is all too aware that things aren’t always as obvious to Uri…

So, the hands that had been at his cheeks soon move so her arms can wrap around his neck, and leaning in, her next words are whispered to his ear slowly and playfully:

”Do you really want to know?”

How is Uri a better person like Sol?

Probably because she does things like these to him, honestly.
