They were already in the area, might as well make the most out of it.

After the rather comical encounter with the Zweilous, Alexei continued to proceed deeper into the belly of Meteor Falls. Now that he’d encountered one Dragon-type, who was to say if he’d be able to find another?

A light humming noise flitted around him, and for a few seconds he almost went cross-eyed as he felt a feather light touch land on his nose for a few moments. As he ran the risk of getting cross-eyed, he then saw that it was Carina, his little Cutiefly, taking a breather on her favorite perch.

“What? Are you fine?” he asked the small Pokémon quietly. “You did really great earlier, you know. They didn’t even see what hit them,” he continued, before hearing another pleased humming noise from the minuscule Pokémon that was resting on his nose.

Chuckling softly, he continued his trek deeper into the caverns, holding out hope that he’d be able to find either a Dragonite, or a Noibat…

I’m looking for those two now… well, I wouldn’t say no to either a Haxorus, a Kommo-o, or a Garchomp… he thought to himself, looking around before cursing softly. He remembered that he only had one Pokéball, and that he had to go back and buy some more before coming out to continue his search…

It didn’t take too long for them to wander towards one of the various streams that cut through Meteor Falls, where he could hear all manner of Water-types idling around in the surf.

He thought he saw a shadow swim past him, but the moment he stopped to get a closer look it was gone.

“Huh, did I see that…” he muttered to himself, blinking slightly as he continued to wander around the area, the little Cutiefly still perched on his nose. He caught sight of another Pokémon native to his home region, but decided against disturbing it.

Huh… wonder where they all went… he thought to himself as he left the Carracosta alone, peeking back to watch it teach some young Tirtouga to swim in the shallow water every so often.

Had he gone too far from where he’d captured the draconid he now had with him? Pondering on where to look next, he decided to go deeper into the caves; he knew he could rely on Gabriel to light up a path ahead for him with the Salamence’s Flamethrower attack, anyway.

The little Cutiefly continued to rest on his nose as he continued deeper into the cave. It didn’t take too long for him to hear the low, rumbling sounds of something sleeping not too far ahead. He could hear the snoring getting louder and louder the closer he got, before suddenly coming to a stop and hiding behind a pillar.

“Carina… Carina,” he began softly, raising the tip of his finger to gently prod the sleeping Pokémon on his nose. “Psst, can you go up ahead and check what that snoring noise is?” he asked once he heard a soft humming coming from the Cutiefly as she woke up from the little nap.

“Go,” he added a few moments later, gesturing the dual-type forward before hearing the humming noise fade away as the Cutiefly went on, exploring up ahead. He was confident that the Cutiefly would be able to find something, since he was aware that Bug-type’s eyesight were much more effective in the dark as compared to a human’s. He then leaned against the rock, waiting quietly—hoping that the tiny little Pokémon would come back and give him some good news.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be. He heard a light humming noise flying back in his direction before feeling a feather-light touch land on his nose again.

“Well? What is it?” he asked the Cutiefly softly.

After hearing a lower-pitched humming noise, he then blinked a few times. “Are you sure?” he confirmed, before another humming noise similar to what he heard earlier came his way.

“Thank you, and I’m sorry to bother you,” he went on, turning away from the path he was walking down on and going another way. Would he be able to find the one he was looking for this time around?

The Cutiefly, after resting on his nose, decided to take off and fly ahead of him again—just in case she spotted something interesting for her companion to take home. Well, she’d already managed to successfully confound a Zweilous due to her sheer tiny size, what else was she capable of?[break][break]

Over where Alexei was walking, he felt the feather-light weight depart from his nose, and he had a little pout on his face as Carina flew ahead. It didn’t take too long for him to hear a distinct tinkling noise before hearing a cry of surprise—a familiar one.[break][break]

While he already had one of them, he suddenly remembered that there was an ad on the local PokéBay that he’d spotted, looking for an Altaria in exchange for a Bewear…[break][break]

He knew that little Carina could handle it, due to her near-invisibility because of her size. Pulling out the last blank Pokéball he had, he turned around the corner in time to see the Altaria firing off a wild manner of Dragon Breath—but the little Cutiefly was just dancing through it, wreaking havoc with multi-directional Fairy Wind after Fairy Wind.[break][break]

Chuckling softy as the Altaria exhausted herself, he then watched for a few more moments, until such time the Altaria finally collapsed due to the Fairy-type attack barrage before he threw his last Pokéball at the fallen fluff cloud.
