This time she does go back to the fitting room without delay and when coming back out, she’s wearing her ranger uniform once again. Still cute, but definitely not nearly as nice as any of the dresses.

Lia rolls her eyes at his words, but even then, there’s a soft smile. Light pink hues colour her cheeks, and she tries to pay this no mind as she goes to the register and finally has to exchange more than a couple of words with the staff. The dresses are paid for, and once they’re finally out of the store, she turns to look at Lance.

Is there even anything open anymore?

She could look at her watch to check how late it is, but she doesn't bother with it.

out of the store they go, stepping out into the mall right as they're about to close. he can tell by how some of the stores around them are dragging their steel doors down, locking them shut.[break][break]

No, there’s nothing slow about this at all.

It’s fast without even considering everything Lance has been through, and the mere thought of it makes her heart race in equal parts excitement and anxiety. It’s fast, and nice, and she enjoys it a lot, but there are also one too many concerns.

Concerns that, as per usual, Lia all too easily pushes aside the moment he takes her hand.

She gives him a soft smile, making her way out of the mall.

the walk is quiet, peaceful, and it doesn't take them long to end up at her apartment. even though he's only been here once, it's slowly becoming familiar to him.[break][break]

it's oddly comforting, yet bittersweet.

Aside from heavily-stocked bookshelves and a few framed prints, there’s nothing that should particularly stand out about Lia’s apartment. All of the pictures that could decorate the place, all of diplomas and awards; all of those things remain in a box by her desk, because even to this day she hasn’t been able to bring herself to sort through it after moving.

It’s too painful.

And so, the apartment remains somewhat ordinary, and with little signs that she’s the one inhabiting it.

Aside from, of course, things like the small Stufful that wanders into the kitchen once they make their way there, causing Lia to roll her eyes when it looks up at them.

”He’s here to beg for food, don’t give in no matter how adorable he is.”
[break][break]
She chuckles, heading for the fridge as she considers what to make.

Which is exactly why he was able to come to greet them in the first place. On the bright side, he didn’t seem to make too much of a mess in the apartment while she was away… This time, at least.

”I’m just making pasta, but if you want you can put water in the kettle and what not, while I prepare the ingredients for the sauce.”

At least something like that shouldn’t take long, and she's quick to turn her attention to setting everything up.

putting water in the kettle seems easy enough, though the real challenge is stepping away from this cute little stufful who keeps pawing at his leg. he reaches into his jacket, pulling out a treat before extending it over.[break][break]

using the distraction, he stands, moving to fill the kettle with water.

An eyebrow is raised when seeing Lance give the Stufful a treat despite her warnings, but she can’t help but chuckle. Since, really… it’s kind of adorable.

”Now he’s going to follow you everywhere, don’t say I didn’t warn you.”

Lia smirks at him, taking her jacket off in order to be more comfortable. Her hair is tied up in a ponytail, and after washing her hands, she finally begins to prepare the sauce for their pasta.

And of course, just as she warned, the Stufful soon follows after Lance.
