There are many things Lia considers herself to be good at.

She’s a great researcher, she’s great with languages, she’s a great archer, and she’s also quite good at a multitude of other things. Thanks to being a ranger she has also developed a multitude of other skills, but would she ever say she’s great at her job?

But, Lance does, and the fact that he does means the world to her, even if it’s only meant to flatter her.

The Stufful is under the table, as if waiting hopefully for them to drop something for him to snatch up like a fluffy and tiny vacuum. Lia should realize this, because he always does this, but honestly, not a single thought of her Stufful crosses her mind at a moment like this.

She looks at Lance, watching him stand and step closer, and when he extends his hand, her gaze drifts towards it.

There’s a smile, soft as hers always seem to be, but playful too. Gold-coloured eyes meet his once more, and gently, delicate fingers fall upon his – taking his hand.

There’s always something comforting about holding Lance’s hand – something that makes her feel safe and secure, and that just seems right. It’s a feeling that is difficult to ignore, but also one that causes her smile to remain as she stands.

Another night together.

It’s strange to wake up by the side of someone; to feel the unfamiliar warmth of another body next to hers. No matter how tired, no matter how lethargic, this is the first thought that crosses her mind when she wakes, and yet she still moves closer – seeking that warmth without even giving it any thought.

It’s early, she knows as much, but light breaks into the room through open curtains that she usually would bother to close before going to sleep…

it's both familiar and strange to wake up to someone next to him. bittersweet, almost, but this time, he chooses to embrace those feelings and to not push them away. instead, he searches for warmth, moving closer to meet her in the middle.[break][break]

he groans, shifting out of bed before drawing the curtains shut. with light now blocked out, the room shifts back to its dark state, and he sighs, settling back down next to her.[break][break]
