The dense foliage of Petalburg Woods is something Ceri is all too familiar with, for the area is one she has visited one too many times ever since first arriving at Hoenn when she was a kid.

Walking through dew-covered grass with her Ivysaur in tow, the Seed Pokémon is quick to use its VINE WHIP to move and slap away branches whenever they’re in her way, a sweet and ever-cheerful ”Thanks, Gort!” rising every single time the pokémon steps in to help.

Given her attitude and appearance, she probably doesn’t look like she’s the most prepared to be at such a place, but appearance can be a deceiving thing, and it’s with keenness that bright blue eyes scan her surroundings in search of any signs of what she came all this way to find.

In order to get acclimated to daily life again, she had been trying to spend some more time with her pokémon. At least, other than training all the time. Looking at how Serenity and Celeste were playing confirmed this seem to be a good idea. She wanted to move forward especially after her talk with Adrian Malcolm she was actually willing to try his advice. Anything to get her out of this miserable slump.[break][break]

So here there merry band was, out for a little walk with the intention to catch some pokémon. Gwen hung close to her, not trying to get involved in Serenity's shenanigans. Ripping off a piece of jerky she offered it to Gwen who just flashed her a look. "If you don't want it don't take it." she said with a smirk, "More for me." [break][break]

Gwen quickly snatched the piece out of her hand which made Serena chuckle. As they continued their trek through the dense foliage a noise alerted the group. Preparing for an encounter the rest of her team got in battle positions while Serena readied a pokeball. All for them to be taken off guard when a group of their own emerged through. A girl and her Ivysaur to be exact. "Oh," Serena breathed as she hooked her pokeball back on her belt. "Sorry, thought you might be a wild pokémon." she said with a small smile.

Cute pokémon are definitely expected when walking around in the wild, especially at a place like Petalburg Woods (at least according to Ceri’s idea of ‘cute’). Cute girls, however, are much more of a rarity, and when stumbling upon Serena, the Rocket Beast is greeted with a smile.

”Hey! No worries, I didn’t expect to run into anyone either.” Her words come with a soft chuckle, and it’s only a few short seconds after she speaks that a small Bellsprout stumbles out of the bushes a few metres away from where they are. Upon seeing it, Ceri crouches down to get a better look closer to eye-level.

”Aw, aren’t you a cutie?” Once again, according to her own idea of what ‘cute’ is. ”Sorry about this, little friend.” She whistles, and swiftly, a VINE WHIP slaps the Bellsprout off its feet (roots?), giving Ceri enough time to calmly chuck a pokéball at it.

It’s only then when she looks up at Serena once more.

”Hope you didn’t want that one, you can have the next one.” She beams.

"Hey! No worries, I didn’t expect to run into anyone either.” the girl replied with a soft chuckle. Serena's amber hues linger on her for a moment before she pulls her gaze away towards her ivysaur. This situation was oddly reminding her of when she had met Rose Soleil for the first time. For a moment a sinking wave of anxiety washed over her that made her posture become ridged and her jaw to become taut. [break][break]

She quickly expelled the memories from her mind. There wouldn't be a repeat of such a thing as long as Serena had something to say about it. Luckily the girl was a little to preoccupied with a bellsprout to witness her emotional and mental turmoil. Her eyes drifted over to the wild pokémon as the girl engaged with it. "Aw, aren’t you a cutie?” [break][break]

She swiftly takes care of the poor unsuspecting bellsprout before turning her gaze back towards Serena, who had been awkwardly frozen in the same position since they bumped into one another. "Hope you didn’t want that one, you can have the next one.” the girl beamed at her. For a moment Serena felt the urge to shield herself from the girl's bright energy. [break][break]

As ridiculous as it sounded the girl bright, like the sun. Her energy was intense, something that Serena just wasn't used to handling lately. In contrast to her more moody, dark, and dampening aura as of late. It was a lot to handle at once. Clearing her throat she shook her head. "Nah, you're good." She said in response to her making and attempt to capture the bellsprout. Before she could continue another rustle alerted her pokémon. [break][break]

It seemed it was her turn already. Having been alerted to all the commotion that was going on a roserade decided to check out what was going on. Sera's eyes narrowed on it for a moment as she considered if she wanted to capture it or not. After a moment she snapped and her pokémon were on the move. [break][break]

Celeste quickly popped a PSYSHOCK on the roserade so quickly it might've given 'em whiplash. Gwen swiftly followed up with INCINERATE. The combo was harsh but effective. Once the roserade was dazed Serena unclipped a pokeball from her belt and tossed it at the roserade before turning back towards the stranger with a small shrug and smirk. "See, It all worked out."

It’s not surprising, not really, especially not when considering the general mood and personality of people in STEM fields (and also in Team Rocket), but while Ceri may be well aware that this is the opinion some people have of her, does she do anything to change it? Does she try to act differently? Is she considerate enough to try to be less annoying, maybe?

"Oh! Nice catch!” the girl beside her said as Serena offered her a soft smile and nod in response. Sera's amber hues follow her as she continues to make her way through the woods. After a moment Serena follows after her, it couldn't hurt to have some company while hunting for pokémon here. [break][break]

"I’m Ceri, by the way. Nice to meet ya.” her voice was soft but bright just like her personality. "I'm...Sera. Nice to meet you too Ceri." Serena dodged past the Yanmega as well, just for her team to run into a Haunter. Celeste and Serenity attacked in unison again once the confirmed it was okay with Serena. Once she deemed it was fine she tossed her pokeball towards it in hopes of capturing it. [break][break]

"So, looking for anything in particular out here Ceri?" Serena asked softly as she shoved her hands in her poket. Might as well attempt to make some sort of conversation if they were going to be hanging with one another for a bit.
