Freddie finally pulls her eyes away from the grunt entirely and turns to sweep her gaze over her surroundings instead. The man had used his last breath to give them a warning, 'ominous' or otherwise, and if nothing else she's intent not to die to whatever he alerted them to. With a wave of her hand she calls Rhys back to stand near her -- allowing her partner's Lucario to take full control of search duties given its abilities.

Fat lot of good that does when it's reported the Lucario isn't having any better luck.

The air buzzes with tension as they stand around, blind to whatever danger might be lurking around any corner. Adrenaline pumps through her system to the beat of her heart in her ears. Unlike the man beside her she's never relished conflict. Despite the thoughts she gets at her low points, Freddie quite likes being alive.

"Figure we've got two choices," she replies, "we sit right here and wait for whatever is out there to come to us, or we run and hope it doesn't catch us off guard on our way to the door."

She sighs, hating the truth of what she's about to say.

"I don't like the idea of something nipping at my heels. I bet you feel the same?"
