The volcanic soil around Lavaridge and Mt Chimney as a whole was the perfect amount of fertility for plenty of farms to prosper, tucked away - where growth could spring from what was once destruction: volcanic eruption to fresh produce. It was the most beautiful part of the cycle of life in action, right before their eyes.[break][break]

Of course, Cora didn't care much for all that farm talk, and she didn't appreciate all the ash getting in her hair! She was a sweet delicate flower, an untouched little lamb - she didn't need to care about farms and hard labour and stuff! At the very least, being out here like some handy farmer or whatever might lead to her catching a sexy tan. Silver linings![break][break]

When it came to missions and being seen out in public doing good, she had to try and care, at least a little bit. Something about Pokémon terrorising something, yada yada - whatever it was, it would be a simple fix, and she could be home nice and soon.[break][break]

Sol isn’t the most outgoing person out there, nor is she the friendliest, but ever since moving to Hoenn, her work for the military has come with more than a few people who are thankful for her service and who sometimes come to her to ask for help with all sorts of dilemmas.

This time, it’s strange events occurring at a farm, and considering all of the equally strange things that had happened recently at Mossdeep, she can’t help but wonder if Unown have something to do with it. That definitely would be enough to unsettle farmers and pokémon alike, right?

This is one of the things she looks for as cold amethyst eyes scan the fields, but it’s soon enough that her gaze falls on the woman standing next to her – her companion for this mission. ”If you think so, then why are you here?” Despite her words, there’s nothing rude or mean about her tone, they’re said matter-of-factly and in a neutral way, for it’s no more than a logical question.

Reaching for her belt, she retrieves two pokéballs, calling out a pair of Lycanroc.

Why was she here? Hm. It wasn't as if she could actually say it was about making herself look like the kind of person who does good things and not at all about actually doing good things.[break][break]

"Farms might be gross and sweaty and all of that, but I still want to help people, obviously" Accompanied by a bright smile as green eyes focus on purple, watching the other woman scan the horizon like a hawk. "You take this thing real serious, huh?" She said, as the two Lycanroc disappeared amongst the maize.[break][break]

As if in response, Cora lets one of her own Pokémon out - Gabbana stands at her side as the red light of the Pokéball fades. Not to do anything in particular, but just to be there - in case something jumps out at them, perhaps? The fact that there was so much obscured by the farmland crops didn't make things any easier.[break][break]

"Whatcha thinkin', then? Some ghost Pokémon or something, causing trouble?"

In the distance, a strong Mudsdale carries on with the farm-work while its owner rides on its back, the pokémon not being one to be easily startled despite the scaredy nature of equines. Watching it, Sol knows her Lycanroc won’t bother with going anywhere near it when its scent is probably all over the farm, and she’s thankful for it, because it would be a shame to disturb the horse needlessly.

They’re searching for something unusual. A scent that shouldn’t belong in a place like this.

Today, the wolves are as if sheepdog protecting the farm from greater danger.

”Why wouldn’t I take it seriously?” Once sure that there’s nothing to notice in sight, Sol turns to her partner one more time, her question being an honest one. She will always be one to take this sort of thing seriously, and she can’t imagine not doing as much, especially not when there’s people who are being troubled by whatever is taking place at this farm.

”It could be a ghost, yeah, they do like to cause trouble… or even a dark type. Zoroark, maybe? I heard a whole swarm of them showed up at Fortree recently, but that’s pretty farm from here.”

She shrugs then, because there are too many possibilities.

Or, there were, but the loud neighing of the Mudsdale may just prove differently...

Cora's gaze, too, was drawn to the distant draft horse pokémon, and her nose instinctively crinkled a little. Reminded her of stables, back at home - not the most fashion-forward of smells. Why couldn't this been a farm of something really cute? Strawberries! Or even pumpkins - imagine that delicious smell! Ugh. Couldn't they just bunk off and go find a coffee shop, somewhere? Pumpkin spice lattes were still in rotation until the end of the month, and it was way more fun than trudging around fields.[break][break]

"Well..." hm. That was a good point. Sol did seem very much the type to takes things seriously. Cora on the other hand... if it wasn't something she could sew or wear or, like, suck off behind a club somewhere, she didn't care too much about anything.[break][break]

"Ooh. Zoroarks! That's pretty cool - I've never seen one in real life, but there was a collection a few years back in Kalos based on dark types, do you remember it? That one Zorua hairpiece? To die for"[break][break]

As though saving Sol from having to hear Cora wax lyrical about fashion, the Mudsdale startled along the way.[break][break]

"The fuck?" Cora could've sworn she'd seen a small circular glow, bright red, as she had looked over... but now it was gone. [break]
"Did you see that? Looked like... an Ampharos tail or something...?" But if it was an AMPHAROS how had the pokémon disappeared so quickly? Ampharos didn't know how to turn invisible. Uh, or they didn't the last time Cora checked.

While Sol may be ever fashion-forward and may care about her appearance, she also doesn’t have the time or the energy to be worrying about things like collections. They’re of no consequence to her, and she sure as hell has no idea what Cora is talking about, but she does think that a Zorua hairpiece would be kind of adorable…
