his first steps were one of hesitance as he stepped into the safari’s enclosure, a roll of his neck prompting his movement forward.

a break was needed after ripping and running to and fro, the constant, ‘help here’s’, and ‘confirm these’ inwardly taking their toll on the man.

one of these request led kim to the safari zone; where the busy councilman finally decided to take a break.

this light trek within the enclosed space was what he needed, not only to clear his head, but to add to his family.

and hey, he could write this off as work if anyone else called for assistance.

the first thing encountered on this trek was a slurpuff huh? it was indeed cute, its pink hues and pleasant scent and added bonus to its fluffy hide.

but unfortunately, kim was not interested in the adorable puff puppy.

leaving it with a pat of of its head and ruffles of its ears, quickly heading off.

the next pokemon to reveal itself happened to be a roserade, it’s shortened back-petals revealing it to be male.

kim would ponder for a moment, thinking of how aesthetically pleasing the pokemon is, not only for its graceful form and beautiful anatomy, but also for the fact that it was a male that rocked it so elegantly.

kim couldn’t help but make the comparison to himself, a flamboyant specimen with beauty overarching the roserade’s.

it was only when the roserade struck a pose that kim naturally struck one back. the roserade would strike another only for kim to respond with his own, the retort met with another pose,

and another,

and another,

and another,

this continued for minutes until they both stood tall, a mutual agreement made in silence as they gave a bow to each other, kim prompty tossing a ball at the pokemon, a snap shut signalling the capture.

he could only hope no one was watching that somewhat embarrassing display of flamboyance shared with his newly acquired roserade.

the familiar face of another roserade showing itself to the astonished kim, a whirlwind of purple and black petals greeting him as they whirled past him, a few cuts slashing his clothing as well as the surface of his skin.

this roserade wasn’t like the last, it was out for blood. but kim was too enamored to even care for the challenge.

this beautiful pokemon was in his presence and his only thoughts were of how beautiful the color combination this and the other would make upon his torterra’s back.

more and more petals breezed by, adding to the scrapes as he made his way forward, eventually coming to tower over the pokemon.

unafraid of the man, the roserade prepared another attack before kim finally spoke up.

“i think you’d make a good addition to my team. not only is that feisty temper of yours needed, but the beauty you would bring to this family would be greatly appreciated. so, would you kindly accept this offer of mine.”

the roserade was out a loss for words, but before she could either accept of deny, the man would tap the ball on her head, a successful capture made as he tucked away the ball.

a sigh escaped as kim took a moment to look around, the shade of a nearby tree, a moment taken to rest before continuing on any further. this moment of peace and tranquility would be intercepted and quickly shut down by a buzzing on his phone.

the endless lits of notifications only forced him to power down the device, groaning as he hung his head down.

it felt like minutes that he sat there, unmoving but it was only seconds, his body quickly regaining its vigor as he looked up, seeing the sweet face of a lilligant, her healing wish almost instantly healing the cuts gained from his previous encounter.

a smile would greet her as the lligant gave a smile back with her eyes and bowed before she started to hop off.

kim would call for the pokemon only for it to turn around, the man inching closer before kneeling down, offering her the ball.

"i could use you on my team, your healing is sure to do wonders in my care."

the grass type would bow before kim tapped the ball on her head, a secured capture being stashed away before he looked to his final ball.

swoobat huh? not exactly his cup of tea, but his duties called for him... but then again, his team's overall appearance was something of great urgency, even if it was only him that thought so.

the people could bear to wait a little longer if it meant he had the correct setup for his team, it's not like he hasn't already taken care of the bigger problems already anyways.

another pokemon he'd rather not expend with his last ball, this time found as he crossed a pond.

unfortunately for this pokemon, it was neither cute nor did kim like it. it was a dumb fish that served no purpose whatsoever. the least it could have done for itself in some form of redemption for it's crime against humanity would be to evolve from luvdisc but it can't even do that right.

this pokemon is beyond redeemable in any aspect and beyond redeemable for kim, therefore, it will be passed; kim resisting the primal urge to throw a rock at it's stupid face.
