Taking a break from his busy life, the scarred man found himself along the worn out path route 101. Warm gaze flickered over the dense forest, feeling a sense of detox being away from the hustle and bustle of city life. A low growl rattled his ear drum, gaze shifted to see his beloved hell hound by his side. A hint of a smile tugged the edge of his lip, hand rose to light pet the side of her neck. The canine didn’t respond to his touch, only keeping her eyes on the surrounding area.

“I’m sure we will be okay,” he tried to comfort the canine. The canine only snorted, lifting her nose to the air to scent out the area. The man rolled his eyes, pressing forward to see what they can find in here. Of course, Azula followed without hesitation on high alert.

The man and the canine continued to make their way through the route. Warm gaze shifted, spotting a small flock of unfezant migrating for the summer above them. It was hard to believe that winter was around the corner. Despite his somewhat thick jacket, the human could feel the chill in the breeze. A loud snore erupted to their left, startling both the scarred human and the massive canine. As per usual, the hell hound let loose a round of snarls at the sleeping snorlax. Maverick only chuckled, shaking his head. It always amazed him how much sleep a snorlax could take.

“Just leave it," the man grumbled in a low tone, motioning for the canine to follow, “It’s sleeping anyway.” Azula let out a snort, turning to follow her trainer. Although Maverick wasn’t sure what he was looking for, a snorlax wasn’t it. A sigh escaped him, wondering where his life has gone down that he stepped down from being a gym leader. Part of him wanted to reapply, the other wanted that elite four stop. Decisions. Decisions.

He let his mind wonder about his life choices. Being a Gym Leader was his dream, but Elite Four would be a a even better one. Warm gaze flickered when the sound of growls erupted from his beloved canine. Eyes blinked, focusing on a wild lopunny before them. A sigh escaped him, not a fan of the muscular bunny but knows that there was coordinator type people who love this fluffy creature. “Sludge Bomb,” the man mumbled, feeling that if he said out much longer he might get a farmer’s tan or something, “Make it quick. Watch out for its kicks.”

The canine snarled, launching massive piles of toxic sludge at the creature. To Maverick’s surprise, the creature didn’t try to dodge. It took the attack, eyes widen and began to water. The trainer blinked, unsure what was going on. Either way, the man plucked a ball from his pocket and tossed it at the creature. The ball hit the mark, sucking the creature in and fell to the earth with a light thud. Well… that was different.
