because of her? most certainly. there was nothing better than a warm cup of pumpkin spice to warm her hands up in the autumn, and she hopes that it'll attract the attention of some other pokemon (if her salandit's scent wasn't already doing enough). she's wandering so aimlessly around the falls, and she thinks she's alone - until she sees the figure of a petite dragon, and her eyes light up (we ignore how she completely skipped over the man who towered over it, standing right there). "hey, hey, do you see that?~" the woman lights up, pulling out a pokeball to chuck at the dragon.[break][break]

... and it comes to a surprise when it bounces off the arm of the man after she misses her mark. she runs towards where she's thrown her pokeball, and that's when she finally notices him. [break][break]

"... ah! you aren't a pokemon!"

By no means was it blunt force, per say, but the sudden contact was admittedly at least a little bit jarring, and upon feeling a sudden weight upon his back for no more than a split second, he instinctively and swiftly turned to glance over his shoulder. Although ready and on guard to retaliate (much like the drake by his side), he’d made quick work of scouring the surroundings before catching sight of...another person.[break][break]

He blinked, furrowing his brows the slightest bit before relaxing his expression.[break][break]

”...No. No, I can’t say I am,” he started off with a faint intonation, glancing down towards the Pokeball and reaching over to pick it up, ”but, uh...thanks for thinking I’m a catch, I guess~?” His lip quirked faintly into a small smirk before long, and he spin the capsule within his hand for a moment before holding it towards her, nodding towards it.[break][break]

”...Maybe don’t ho aiming at random people next time, though~? Might actually work one day. Who knows.”[break][break]

she's met with a man who stands tall before her, and she can't help but to eye him for a little bit, blinking a few times as she registers that he's.. there. not because he had little presence - no, it was quite the opposite - but because she couldn't quite believe that.. something this attractive just happened to be standing right there, in front of her, and it's almost a shame if she didn't take a moment to appreciate it. [break][break]

she doesn't take too long, however, as she collects herself and instead throws the pokeball to a stray slowpoke that emerged from a leaf pile. bam, scapegoat. gold eyes smile up at him as she straightens herself back up, and she instinctively tucks her hair behind one of her ears. a low hum sounds between her lips, and the smile grows wider. "of course~" she takes the capsule that failed to catch him (a shame, really) and tucks it back into her bag. "i'm sorry~. it's a bit of a shame, too." a playful flirt, let it be oblivious or otherwise was up in the air. the attention turns back from the bag, to have their eyes meet again (and it's here where she notices how pretty they are). [break][break]

"i'm sorry for that, again. are you hurt?" please say you are, so she has a reason to keep looking - is what she's most certainly thinking. she's unapologetic and shameless.

Words spoken with an amused hum, met in tandem with both a wink and a tug of the lips into a small, yet playful smirk, all the same. Undoubtedly had they been due to the clear looks that he’d seen passed his way, as well as the remarks that he’d been offered. Despite the initial reason that she’d caught (badumtss) his attention, he found the situation at hand to be rather enjoyable- enough for the fragrance of the pumpkin spice she’d brought with her to be little more than an afterthought.[break][break]

He took a moment to gaze past her and towards a few more Pokemon roaming out and about, observing them with a lingering smile upon his lips prior to turning his head towards her, once more. ”Joking aside, though? ...Yeah, I’m fine~. No need to worry about anything.”[break][break]

oh, she would more than gladly take a better look, but she has to hold herself back from being invasive, of course. from here she can pay a bit more attention to the man who seemed to be.. quite sharp. sharp enough to tell that she was glancing his way a couple of times, or he was just being flirtatious? she can't really tell. [break][break]

"that's good to hear you aren't hurt--" there's a pause in her speech, and from the corner of her eye, she can see the little salamander that followed behind her, and the sound of a lotad screaming as it's scorched by a flamethrower is enough to make her jump a bit, then throw a pokeball at it to put it out of its misery (and to try and get it away from her salandit, as soon as she could). "pepper!" the woman suddenly scolds, brows furrowed as she crossed her arms, and the salandit only hisses softly before scurrying up around the woman's leg, up her body until she's perched around her shoulders. ".. mmn.." she tries to hop back onto her train of thought, but it's fruitless. so instead, she raises her arm out to him, wearing a smile as she feels the pout from the salamander against her skin. they'll think you have a cheek pouch, pepper. [break][break]

"it's nice to meet you, regardless~" her voice raises and she chimes "my name is mielle. you are?~"

A looker both in saying and action, wasn’t she?[break][break]

No matter. It hadn’t quite gone over his head, but at the very least, it provided some means of amusement and entertainment, nevertheless- even more so as the little reptile accompanying her had gone out of her way to absolutely harass one of the other, passing Pokemon. Although the action in itself was entirely uncalled for, the man couldn’t help but allow a wry smile of shocked amusement to tug upon his cheeks at the sight of the flames; azure hues immediately squinting, and his teeth clenching lightly within a grimace as the poor, poor Lotad found itself at her mercy.[break][break]

Following that, he watched the lizard skitter back towards her trainer, blinking idly and watching as it rested its lower jaw upon the woman’s shoulder. ”...A feisty one, huh~?” the dark haired man mused with a chuckle, humming as his gaze lingered upon the fire type for a small while longer. Soon afterward, however, he found his gaze shifting towards the person by his side as she held her hand out.[break][break]

He gave her a subtle, secondary glance before reaching out to meet it with one of his own.[break][break]

”...Dante, though~,” he went on, a playful touch enveloping his words. ”The feeling’s mutual~.”[break][break]

she takes his hand, grasping it and giving him a firm shake with the same smile upon her lips. her eyes wander to the salandit that seems to hiss once again at the man, brows furrowed and tongue sticking out in a hiss. "she's certainly a sassy one, indeed~" her other hand gently nudges the opposite cheek of the pouting pokemon, prompting yet another hiss of distaste before she ultimately scurries off the trainer. mielle takes another glance around, and no pokemon seem to have appeared. "i wonder what kind of pokemon shows up in these areas~.." she wonders, idly. oh! hold on, she knows! if it's a cave, then, surely--[break][break]
