The gym that has been sponsored by RotomTV caught her eyes, a gym that is not part of the major league but specifically designed by the League to prepare for the major league. Nia is interested in the concept and curious about what they can offer since she eventually wants to conquer the major league for the sake of her story. Taking a step to the gym, Nia quickly signs up for a double battle where she is going to use Nina, Alolan Ninetales, and Mahiro, Alolan Sandshrew. Now, she waits for the fight to begin.

another day, another challenger.

"hello there!" he takes a step into the space, eyeing their opponent for the day from across the battlefield. "i'm cian — welcome to the rustboro weather gym!"

and without much delay, he calls out his two choices for the battle, and the presence of snover quickly calls for a SNOW WARNING. he wraps a scarf around his neck, then gives a thumbs up.

"i hope you brought a scarf or a sweater!"

gesturing, cian allows the challenger the first move.

"Good to be here" Nia answers with a smile as she let out Mahiro and Nina. "Don't worry, this kind of thing is something usual for me," Nia assures him regarding the extra clothing. Cian gestures that he will be letting her take the first move and judging from the pokemon that he picks - This fight could be tricky as they are facing ice with ice. On the bright side, Nia is able to see that Mahiro will be the MVP of this battle if she plays her right.

"Here goes nothing, Nina! unleashes the coldest wind that you can muster! While Mahiro, find the timing to hit your enemy with your hard head!" Nia thrust her arm forward commanding both of her pokemon like a commander. Nina jumps to the sky as she takes a deep breath before unleashing an ICY WIND that covers the whole stage while Mahiro is readying herself and charging right at the Avalugg as her head turn into iron and perform IRON HEAD moves.

and so, the battle commences.

"stand your ground!"

avalugg's feet dig into the earth, grounding itself before its own head glows in shiny energy. its IRON HEAD meets the sandshrew's, both pokemon coming to a standstill.

snover spends the turn digging its feet into the earth as well, INGRAINING itself in place to combat the chill of the ICY WIND.

around them, HAIL continues to fall.

It was as expected that the Avalugg won't be down easily and how fast Cian's Snover handles the icy wind. The hail starts to come down. Mahiro smiles as she starts to get giddy with the hail which increases her capability to evade any oncoming attacks, the hail also benefits Nina. "Mahiro stands your ground and Nina, it is your showtime. Engulf the stage with BLIZZARD"

Mahiro's body is covered with a dark grey-ish aura as he uses IRON DEFENSE while Nina lands on the ground and unleashes a strong blizzard that covers the whole ground and is aimed directly at both Snover and Avalug. With the help of the hail, it is close to impossible for them to evade it easily.

avalugg braces itself, conjuring up a shield of PROTECT that wraps around them, keeping them relatively safe from the perils of BLIZZARD. snover ducks underneath its partner, hiding behind avalugg's leg.

and when the BLIZZARD eventually subsides, snover's leaping out into the open to swing its massive WOOD HAMMER of an arm across at the ninetales.

Nina embraces the impact that she receives from Snover's wood hammer that pushes her away a meter back once the blizzard subsides. "I am sorry Nina, but you need to brace yourself for now." Nina apologizes to her Pokemon. Nina quickly glances at Snover's and her eyes shine as she DISABLE the Snover's WOOD HAMMER. Mahiro rushes towards Snover in anger after realizing that her partner got hurt by the Snover, midway she looks like stumble but quickly curls herself up and roll at great speed performing GYRO BALL aiming at the Snover with a good speed.

with WOOD HAMMER now disabled, it limits snover's choice of moves, but it's not like the grass-type's about to charge in regardless. it's rooted in its INGRAIN for a reason.

"continue from afar!"

and just like they've trained, snover ducks back underneath avalugg whose skin shines in an IRON DEFENSE. avalugg takes the GYRO BALL, roaring in pain.

but snover's fine! it flaunts its SWAGGER, attempting to confuse the ninetales.

The Snover quickly takes shelter under the Avalugg and makes Mahiro clash with Avalugg instead. The clash makes Nina careless as she starts to get confused by the Snover's SWAGGER that he flaunts discreetly. Making her disoriented and nauseous. Nina tries to release a mist from her mouth but instead, she trips and got injured herself, Mahiro rush back and covers Nina with her body. "Nina, stay down for now... Focus on getting rid of your confusion" Nia declares. "Mahiro, don't stop the momentum and keep hitting em'!"

Mahiro leaps forward while her claws glow metallic and quickly swipes at the Snover with her METAL CLAW. She needs to stop that pokemon before they are able to confuse Mahiro too.
