Mostly because he genuinely had no idea that he was doing behaviour that could be counted as "stringing along". To him, the flirting and dates and nights together were just the things that friends did. Was this due to his own fucked-up-ness with relationships? Absolutely. Was he aware of this? Not really. Was it going to stop anytime soon? Probably not.[break][break] He'd invited Lia to visit the fields of Evergrande for a walk with him as a date more in content than in name. To anybody with half a brain, after all, it was obvious that this was indeed a date. Pace apparently didn't have half a brain, however, since he was all we're still just friends who kiss and stuff haha.[break][break] The fields, usually vibrant in every colour you could think of, were just as beautiful in the snow. Everything was white for miles, and then past the coast, it was blue for miles more. He put an arm around her, leant in and beamed, letting the bells on the felt antlers he wore on his head jingle a little bit.[break][break] "It's so beautiful here! Makes me almost miss Sinnoh" that was a whole different can of worms to open, sure, but it was true - snow was much more common there than it was in the tropical Hoenn. "Though winter outfits leave a lot to be desired, right?" Pace had always been much more of a chillaxed summer guy. Although winter did happen to be the perfect time to whip out the trusty grey sweatpants.
