It's nice to get a chance to get out and clear your head. The icy air rushes through your system and fills your lungs, then eats at you from the inside whenever you try to breathe it all back out again. It's by no means healthy to keep going outside in less than appropriately warm clothes but that wouldn't matter if you weren't meant to be out for long.

At least, that had been the plan when she'd first set out on the walk. Right now, she's more or less stuck chasing after Ollie's energetic trails in the snow, pressing her fingers against the bridge of her nose as she watches him dart ahead then promptly make a beeline towards her before repeating the loop again.

A much needed (and much delayed) visit to the bank’s branch at Hoenn’s most touristic city had ended with Mars walking down Lilycove’s streets – not even this place being immune to the strange snowfall that seems to have overtaken Hoenn.

Usually, after visiting a branch he would take a flying taxi straight to Slateport’s Upper District and get back to work, but upon request of his doctors and nurses – mainly Evelyn Vespera’s insistence on avoiding stress – he has been trying to slow down his fast-paced and ever busy ways.

What matters is that he’s trying, and that’s exactly why he chooses to go for a walk before continuing with this busy day of his; a warm beverage from the nearby Sawsbucks in his hand and a pink-tailed Meowth walking beside him.

Between the strangely-coloured Meowth and the Delibird in need, Ollie struggles to fixate his focus on one. Though his heart guides him towards offering help to those who need it, his head tells him that he really should drop everything to begin chasing after that Meowth. Thankfully, Zahra is quick to reign him in, giving him a gentle scratch behind the ears as she takes a glance over the situation.

"Hey there, buddy..." She hums as she kneels down to the Delibird's eye level, looking at the gifts scattered around him. "Need a hand?"

Even though she's sure that things would go smoother if she simply picks the presents up, there's no way she's getting past that habit of vicious slapping or possessiveness that this giftbearer has. In fact, Ollie is quick to prove her point when he finds his snout smacked by the Delibird for even getting close to the boxes.

Guess they'll be doing things the old-fashioned way.

Turns out that what had drawn the Meowth’s attention hadn’t exactly been the Absol, but instead the metallic foil so carefully wrapped around the gifts that lay scattered on the snow. Playful as Cash Money always is, her intentions become obvious to Mars the moment he notices the Delibird, and just as the Meowth is about to pounce at a particularly shiny gold and silver present, he grabs her – picking her up from the ground.

Just in time, but it’s this action that leaves him too close to the woman and her Absol to just walk away unnoticed.

Is this what it feels like to feel forced to intervene?

”Hey, need some help?”

The words come with a smile, amber-like gaze drifting from the woman to the Delibird.

Is this how it feels to peer pressure someone into helping? Sure, the playful Meowth is stopped and he could very well be on his way but perhaps, her presence makes it hard for him to turn a blind eye to this poor Delibird. Just as well! She sure as hell wasn't going to handle it on her own!

"It would be greatly appreciated if you had the time to spare. I'd owe you one!" She offers a smile of her own, "Of course, I wouldn't wish to hold you back from anything important!"

Being indirect may sometimes backfire on her, but she's grown to learn that most people like the idea of being owed a favour that they may claim at a later date. It's always about the benefits, the things you gain from spending time on tasks like this - A little cold-hearted but pragmatic in every sense.

"I'm guessing it wants to head that way." Her fingers gesture in the same direction that the Delibird points towards, its red flippers excitedly shaking as it hops up and down. "And the Lilycove daycare centre should be in that direction, if I recall correctly... Perhaps, it's being a stand-in Santa this year."
