[break][break] FOR A SHORT BIOGRAPHY…Martín del Mar is a 28 year old businessman from Canalave, Sinnoh. Unbeknownst to most of Hoenn, he was raised as the sole heir to one of the most powerful and affluent families in Sinnoh, the Marzán family, who are rumoured to be at the very top of the largest and most dangerous crime syndicate in their region. He always had a difficult relationship with them; he was taken by force from his childhood home in Kalos after his father’s attempt to raise him away from the family, and taught everything he needed to know in order to succeed his grandfather in his role as head of the syndicate. There are many reasons why Mars is actively (yet [break][break]secretly) working towards being rid of them, but the main factor was discovering that they were responsible for the death of his wife and child. Mars moved to Hoenn shortly after those tragic events, and while on a professional level he was already known in Sinnoh’s business sphere and had made quite a few investments to increase his own wealth, taking over as P.O.G Bank’s CEO really changed things for him and the bank. The bank’s profits and customer base have significantly increased due to policies implemented by him, and Mars has taken interest in investing in a lot of different ventures, as well as making generous donations to League research facilities and sponsoring talent…[break][break] You can read more about Mars’ business ventures below. When it comes to making investments, Mars tends to put potential profit above all else, but he’s also prone to doing things for the sake of continuing to build his image as a League-supporter and philanthropist. POG BANK.Piazza Oro Grande Bank (better known as POG Bank) is the consumer division of the economic services multinational Ploutos Financial Group, first founded in Alto Mare, Johto over a century ago. The bank has branches in the main cities of most regions, with fifteen new ones having opened all over Hoenn after their corporate headquarters were moved to Slateport two years ago – even operating in Rocket-controlled Kanto and Sootopolis. [break][break] Known for their countless ads featuring their iconic Meowth mascots and for their social media engagement, their services range from commercial banking to credit, asset management, mortgages, and loans, as well as having a brokerage department and offering eight different types of insurance for their customer base. The bank (as well as Ploutus Financial Group itself) has invested and put its seal on a myriad of different ventures, amongst which the following are most notable in Hoenn: [break][break] PAYDAYA recently-established electronic commerce company owned by the Ploutos Financial Group. It allows customers to create an account on its platform, which is connected to a user's credit card or checking account. Once identification and proof of funds are confirmed, users can begin sending or receiving payments to and from other PayDay accounts online or through the company's app.[break][break] THE MARS FOUNDATIONA charitable organisation created by the Ploutus Financial Group and directly linked to POG Bank. Its mission is to tackle Hoenn’s greatest social, economic, and environmental challenges. Its investment income is distributed to suitable charitable activities, but they also often run fundraisers and are known to offer scholarships to those who meet their criteria. The Mars Foundation is classified as a 501(c)(3) organisation, which are tax exempt, as are donations to them.[break][break] POG PRODUCTIONSA small production company owned by MARTÍN DEL MAR and directly linked to POG Bank. It’s mostly used for the bank’s notorious advertisements and social media posts, but as of late it has also been involved in producing pokémon contests and other events – such as the ♡ Love Contest.[break][break] CASINO STARLIGHTA casino that recently opened its in Sootopolis City. It's a joined venture between KILLIAN DECKER and MARTÍN DEL MAR, with POG Bank's backing. Mars is mostly an investor in this case, having given Killian almost full creative control over the casino.[break][break] SEA MAUVILLEA project to restructure the derelict facility with the intent of creating a deep sea research centre. This project has been conceptualised and spearheaded by ROWAN WRYNN, while POG Bank and Greater Mauville Holdings (GMH) have provided their cooperation and backing. This is still currently in development.[attr="class","unb-img"]  ILLICIT ACTIVITYFOR THE GLORYAll that glitter is not gold, and while Mars may publicly have a flawless reputation as a wealthy businessman and League-supporter, the darker truth is that many of his dealings are of an illicit nature. As one of Team Rocket’s four admins in the Hoenn region, his role mostly focuses around the financial and business side of things – ensuring that the syndicate makes a profit and has a well-established trade network, among other things. [break][break] Despite there existing no signs of illegal activities in POG Bank or any of his other ventures, the fact that these exist but are carefully hidden. The Ploutus financial group itself belongs to a crime syndicate from Sinnoh, which has been closely associated with Team Rocket and is led by Mars’ own family. The bank has been secretly used for laundering, as well as safely keeping much of their wealth offshore. [break][break] Currently, Mars finds himself in a secret feud with said crime syndicate after a long time of planning his revenge against them for the murder of his wife. He has actively disrupted many of their endeavours and taken their assets for himself, but as of right now they’re not aware of his betrayal and believe this to be the efforts of criminal entities in Hoenn acting against them (mostly thanks to Mars “dealing” with their informants in Rocket). [break][break] He works closely with many businesses owned by Rocket members, and of the main places where he operates is an underground smuggling facility beneath the southernmost portion of Route 104 – which was recently acquired to expand the syndicate’s black market trade.
