or not, considering there wasn't actually anything going on, outside of casanova checking out an abandoned warehouse.

it hadn't been for anything shady, either, in all honesty; they had just wanted to check out places if their fortune-telling gig ever got off the ground. or lied their way through it to get that far- either way, it was worth checking things out for. and, from the looks of things, the one they were inspecting wouldn't be that hard to fix up when they got the money to take something like this on. if they got the money to.

maybe, in hindsight, they should have been more careful about it, and avoided visiting during later parts of the day. but that wasn't on them, because they were busy, and they hadn't connected the ghost rumors to their own existence around the abandoned warehouse.

Abandoned is an interesting term when it comes to property, for many of the places that people consider to be just that actually have owners who are all too aware of their existence. Neglected but not forgotten. Disregarded until there’s a need for them again.

@casanova may have a great eye, because the neglectful owners of the particular warehouse they’re interested in happen to be no other than Team Rocket itself. It was once a place used for their black market operations in Slateport, especially back when they had control of the city, and lately, after the most recent change in administration, this is a purpose it slowly but surely seems to be regaining…

Except that, how could it regain such a purpose when grunts are too scared to approach thanks to rumours of paranormal activity?

to casanova, if it looked abandoned, it was abandoned. and if there was what seemed to be a layer of dust on everything inside the warehouse, then it was definitely an adding factor to if it actually was or not. maybe not now, because casanova themselves was working on seeing how things could work out, but it had been. at one point.

it doesn't take much to check the back of the building out, with a flashlight and the zoroark by their side. there's a window nearby, and the gleam of the light may be visible if there's any on mars' side; just barely, though. a flicker of movement, and then it's gone just as fast as casanova moves.

looks like the misunderstanding isn't going to be cleared up that easily.

While paranormal activity may very well be what’s happening at this warehouse, in actuality that usually just means catching a few ghost pokémon. There’s other likely possibilities he does not ignore: squatters having taken a liking for the building, other pokémon, the list goes on.

Is it possible that the grunts are just making all this up to avoid work? That’s considered too, but if that’s the case then they’re nothing but audacious fools.

Either way, these are the reasons why he doesn’t immediately go into the warehouse when arriving and approaches a window instead, looking into the dark building only to then see the passing glimmer of light and a flicker of movement coming from a window at the other side.

And so the Inkay does, approaching from the air while Mars quietly heads in the direction of the light.
