Dom shrugged his coat on tighter and pulled his beanie down over the tops of his ears. It was a good thing he'd had the piece of mind to grab his cold-weather gear when he left Kanto; he'd almost left it, having heard that Hoenn's tropical climate made for balmy winters. Sure, balmy. More than anything, he was thankful for his thick wool socks (Liepard themed, obviously). There wasn't anything worse than cold feet.[break][break]

As he stood at the trailhead of Route 120, scrolling through his phone, he frowned. Aurora stood just behind him, peering over his shoulder. "From the report, it looks like there was a hiker that took this route yesterday and they haven't contacted anyone since," Dom said. He looked out over the landscape. There were several feet of fresh snowfall, enough that the trail itself was almost completely obscured. It would be all too easy to wander off the path and be lost among the snowcapped trees. "It snowed again last night, so if there are any tracks it'll be almost impossible to see them."

Winter time....the perfect season for vacationing in the mountains. The ever looming silence of snow and tundra left little to be admired. Only the solemn nature of the season made him feel more at peace, more....relaxed if that was even possible. Regardless, Shi took time for himself from Rocket for the time. After all he couldn't just move to Hoenn without knowing that geography could he? That and he had to accommodate his pokemon, primarily his Delibird who loved winter.

With a new day the Rockteer pulled on his winter gear, which was more strangely hunter gear, but neglecting the protective neon coloring. "Ahh...new snow," he spoke as he returned his thermos to his backpack, keeping his hunting gear to his side. "Delibird....be sharp, we're hunting a beast today." Holding his Rifle to his side, and released his Liepard who gave a chilled hiss, She HATED the snow. "you'll fetch the meat. and you may have your reward as well," the narrow black eyes locked down the scope, seeing an abomasnow. Within a second the shot went off, missing mind you, because of the Delibird slapping the gun away because it noticed the human.

"DELI" it squawked loudly, and almost obnoxiously.

The shot that rang out split the air with a crack strong enough to make Dom drop to a knee, his heart pounding. Aurora, of course, couldn't hear it, but blinked and hunkered down with her trainer, following his lead. Dom scanned their surroundings, shifting until he was in a crouch. He might have completely overlooked the stranger were it not for the Delibird sqawking angrily. Luckily, the little Pokemon's red coat stood out against the snow. Dom stood, waving his hands over his head in the direction of the stranger.[break][break]

"Woah, woah!" Shifting, he moved to stand in front of where Aurora was still huddled, doing her best to make herself a smaller target. "Don't shoot! That's my Abomasnow." When he was (mostly) sure that the other man wasn't planning on firing any more shots, Dom tapped Aurora on the shoulder and gestured for her to follow. The pair walked cautiously towards the gunman. "This is gonna sound silly but... you woudln't happen to be the missing hiker, would you?"

A missing hiker? Well no. Shi didn't and he didn't care to look or try and find him. The missing man was just coincidence and nothing more. Sure hunting an aggressive abomasnow as helpful but anything other then that was pointless. Who cared? One man missing? Now if it became a danger to society, then he got involved. "Hikers...no....don't care....just hunting known dangerous abomasnow." The hunter put his rifle away as his pokemon stood by his side, "should hunt. hard to find. lots of snow, probably has hiker your looking for," he shrugged and moved upwards trucking himself through troves of snow. "rumors are...its den is here. somewhere. close likely. lots of snow, some trees. ice pokemon enjoy winter."
