Jessica was called upon to investigate the Shoal Cave, its popularity growing ever popular since the geologists and scientists suggested there was so many things to find in its depths. But, she had to admit...

It was fucking cold.

She shivered as she walked through the cave, glad to have her Delphox walking alongside her for warmth. And Niko. If she wasn't so cold, she'd hold his hand, but her hands were buried in her armpits to try to keep them warm.

"What do you think's in here?" she asked with a glance to her newly established partner.

Significant other didn't seem right. Not yet. It didn't feel like they were ready to establish that at the moment.

"Dibs? What the fuck, Niko!"

Her protest echoed in the cave, startling a few Zubats that had nestled in the darkness. Of course, she didn't mean anything too seriously. Depending on the treasure, she didn't think she wanted it at all.

"No. I'm from Canalave, and Hoenn never got this cold until now. I hate it."

Jessie gave him an eye roll, followed by her sticking her tongue out. Of course, she meant this all in jest. She didn't particularly care about what they could find in the cave.

His jacket was placed around her shoulders before she could protest, say something like "you're going to get a cold." But did she give it back?

No. It smelled like him, and it was warm. She held it closer.

"Thank you. Just don't blame me if you get sick later."

"Better knock on wood, Niko. Before it comes to getcha."

But would she take care of him? That was an easy answer.

"Well, of course. What kind of person would I be if I didn't take care of you?" she said, unable to help but blush.

"I'll keep you nice and cozy, make sure you're drinking enough water, and I'll make you soup. I have a great recipe for when someone's sick."

Her body bumps against his as he pulled her closer, causing her to giggle. She held his arm tightly with her free hand, leaning her head against his bicep for a moment before she hummed.

"But you'd also be miserable, wouldn't you? I could always give you soup or something when you aren't sick," she pointed out.

She shrugged.

"I wouldn't say I'm the best cook. I'm just really lazy and choose not to. But that soup... I love it."

It suddenly felt much warmer than it had been in the Shaol Cave. Not to mention Jessie’s cheeks were a rosy hue. She looked up at him and smiled.

”I’m glad. I hope all I do is make you happy.”

As for the soup…

”For you? I guess I will…” she said, feigning annoyance. However she laughed.

Jessie couldn’t help the giggle escaping between her lips, raising her eyebrows at him.

”This weekend… I shouldn’t have anything planned as far as I know of.”

Truth be told, she found herself performing a lot less than she had been. She had been taking up more missions and the like lately. Not to mention, she really only desired one man’s attention on her than many.
