“A-Aren’t you supposed to be…in Shoal Cave…?” Lana asked gently as he surprised a small red and white bird pokemon fretting over something on the ground. It was colorful and at first, he had thought it to be berries but upon closer inspection they looked like…presents? He froze when the Delibird began shrieking protectively, more or less warning him to stay put. He didn’t quiet down, only freaking out worse as his Dusclops appeared from the shadows next to it and began inspecting a present. The Delibird was quick to snatch it, screeching at Mikey before the ghost rejoined his side. [break][break]

“H-Hey I’m not h-here for the presents!” the ghost trainer said a little louder in an attempt to calm down the Delibird as it protected its hoard of presents.

Toshiaki always goes wherever the mind may take him. This time, it seems it's led him to quite the commotion unfolding. He tilts his head curiously at the sight. A very disgruntled Delibird with a large sack of presents, an even more confused trainer and Pokemon. Toshiaki bumps his fist into the center of his palm, imaginiary lightbulbs going on in his head.[break][break]

Lana let out a yelp despite himself at the appearance of another trainer. He began to try to put together an explanation that didn’t sound shady. “I-I was j-j-just-!” he began before cutting himself off as the trainer went straight for the Delibird. The flying type glared at the new human, guarding its tail and gifts fiercely despite Toshiaki’s kind disposition. [break][break]

Lana watched, quietly staring as the Delibird deliberated in communicating with Toshi or telling him and Lana off and scaping. Luckily, the Delibird seemed to relax just a little before nodding at the train. Yes. Yes, he was a little lost. “U-Um!” Lana cleared his throat before trying to speak up. “I-I f-found them p-p-picking u-up presents h-here.” He explained. “I-I t-think it got a-attacked. R-Recently.” He added before poitng at one of the few presents the Delibird had yet to pick up.

The Delibird is still distrusting, and rightfully so, though Toshiaki isn’t giving up on him yet! Before he could question it for more answers, the trainer next to him (woah, when did he get here?) starts shedding a little light on the situation. As he listens Toshiaki goes quiet, a thoughtful expression settles onto youthful features.[break][break]
Attacked, huh?[break][break]
He pouts, until that frown turns upside down. [break][break]
“Alright! I think I get it now. What you need is a bodyguard to make these deliveries!” He stands and pounds his closed fist against his chest. A sign of his resolve. “We’ll help you! Me and--” Toshiaki pauses, looking pretty dumbfounded. “Uh.. Sorry, what’s your name again?”[break][break]

The Delibird didn't seem to like either of them, but at least it's attention was on the new guy. He watched the gears turn in the other guy's head before swallowing hard they finally acknowledged him. "I-I'm R-R-Ruslan! But, L-Lana is f-fine!" he said, not really ready for the introduction but still cracking his best shot at it anyway. He wasn't used to the amount of energy coming off him, but he didn't hate it. He just wished he was more sure of his words. [break][break]

The Delibird looked at the both of them, one shaking in his spot the other more than happy to help. Slowly the dual type retrieved the last of his lost presents eyes the pair as he did before pulling something out and carefully handing it to Toshi. It seemed to be a sheet of paper with instructions to get to a post office. "Y-You'll let us h-h-help t-then?" he asked before the Delibird hissed and then proceeded to cut themsleves off. There's a small nod. They were on thin ice.
