Huh.

Even if he already had a Decidueye of his own, fact of the matter was there were interesting things currently calling the Safari Zone grounds their home.

Truth be told, he hadn’t been here. Like, legitimately, ever, so everything was a new experience for him.

Imagine his surprise when he was rolled a fourth Safari Ball and he tried to return it; only for the Warden to explain that someone of his ‘prominence’ was allowed to catch four Pokémon from within rather than three.

Huh. When did he get to be that well-known? What was going on?

Either way, he welcomed the extra Safari Ball, try as he might to return the danged thing anyway.

Well, at least he could catch something extra just in case…

Off he went into the wilderness beyond the gate once he was cleared by the Safari Zone security… what was waiting for him out here?

The first thing he—heard, not spotted, to be honest—was a loud ringing noise.

Wait, what was causing that racket?

“Ow, what the hell!” he hissed as he looked around, trying to spot the offending culprit and initially spotting nothing.

“Yeesh, keep it down!” he continued as he walked forward, keeping an eye out on the immediate surroundings because holy shit, that was an earsplitting racket of screaming!

He shook his head as the loud crying, ringing noise continued once more as he went past a clump of bushes—where was the noise coming from?!

“Ow, ow, yikes!” he went on as he clapped both his hands over his ears as he decided to make a run for it, because whatever was causing the racket—he couldn’t spot it and therefore decided to put as much distance between himself and the source of the noise as much as possible.

He could still hear the ringing noise echoing in his ears. Ouch, that was going to hurt for a while—

And then he spotted something blue zipping through the undergrowth.

He then chuckled, because this was going to be a bit of an unfair matchup, considering that he always had Alfons with him at all times, but—to each their own—

The Golurk then made his appearance from out of the red beam of light—but the Oshawott lashed out with a Night Slash attack!

“Well, that’s kinda rude, but I like how you have initiative,” he chuckled as the Oshawott then boosted the attack with Swords Dance and repeated the Night Slash assault.

“Alfons, don’t overdo it!” he shouted as the Golurk then aimed a Shadow Punch at the Water-type, and while it clipped the Oshawott, the Water-type didn’t stop with the assault.

“Heh, looks like you’re a keeper!” he smirked, as the two Pokémon traded blows—and eventually the Golurk had thrown the Oshawott via one more Shadow Punch before being swallowed up in the beam of red light from the Safari Ball he’d thrown.

One down, and then—

A sudden bolting flash of red caught his attention—while it had been too fast to spot, the crying noises it made tipped him off—

He didn’t realize it until it clicked. That he had almost all of what was traditionally considered to be the ‘starters’ from his home region of Johto, until the moment the flash was brought to a halt by a sudden Shadow Punch attack from the Golurk next to him.

“Al, did you really have to—” he remarked, as the Cyndaquil was sent flying—however the Fire-type was smart, and proceeded to aim an aerial Flame Wheel in the direction of the Golurk.

“Don’t go too hard on it!” he shouted, however the Golurk was no longer listening as this time it had laid another Shadow Punch on the incoming spitfire of a meteor.

“Well, can’t deny this one’s got some spunk too…” he added with a chuckle as the Cyndaquil was then sent flying close to where he stood; a red beam of light from the thrown Safari Ball saved it before it hit the ground.

The next attacker took the Golurk by surprise with a literal Shadow Sneak from behind—which made Arashi look around in confusion.

Where the hell was the attacking Pokémon coming from?!

All the same, the Golurk looked around, extremely confused—where was that tickling sensation coming from?!

“Look by your feet!” he shouted, whistling sharply and pointing down. The golem Pokémon looked down—and spotted the culprit; it was a Rowlet!

Now, he already had the final evolution of this particular Pokémon, however another Shadow Sneak was enough for the Golurk to affix his stare at the little offender, before another Shadow Punch smacked the round, spherical object right in the face.

“Wow, you really spare no mercy, huh?” he cackled as he threw another Safari Ball at the (almost-squashed) Rowlet.

And just like that, another Pokémon came rushing in after the Rowlet had been knocked out. Only this time, it was a lot more aggressive than the mischievous spherical object.

The warning signs were there when a loud Howling noise rent the silence, before a sudden burst of Agility made the nefarious troublemaker approach before chaining right then and there into the Roughest of Playing tactics.

“Whoa!” he shouted, very nearly getting knocked off the Golurk’s shoulder at the Growlithe’s aggressive approach.

“Man, this one’s a good one too!” he added as he held on tight—the rumbling was the only warning he would get as a powerful Earthquake shook the area, activated by a singular stomp from the Golurk’s left foot.

“Yikes!” he added as the ground below erupted in violent tremors, which sent the Growlithe flying, but oh no this one wasn’t done yet!

A sudden Fire Fang came from out of nowhere as the little meteor came to land, and one last Shadow Punch did the canine in.

“Well, at least the other pooch is gonna have a playmate…” he chuckled as he threw the last Safari Ball at the downed Growlithe.
