kyle visits the depths of the shoal cave once again, with his last visit being like multiple months ago. supposedly, noah's patch was around here. he tries to remember where it was, but the time between the present and the last time he was here was just too long.

a mightyena accompanies kyle was he walks through the chilly corridors of the cavern system. he tries to recall any kind of landmark to use to jog his memory, but nothing so far gives him a clue.

or maybe he's just lost.

a stream of icy cold water runs beside the path kyle has chosen to follow. he vaguely remembers the spot where noah planted his carrots to be somewhat near a source of water, so he follows it.

along the way, his mightyena stops trotting along and starts to bark at a dewgong in the water. his face contorts to a mixture of annoyance and pain as the dark-type spends his entire effort to fill the echoes with his incessant barking.

at least the dewgong doesn't seem to mind.

with the aquatic pokemon simply staying still and watching the land pokemon unable to do nothing at it outside of threats, kyle simply shoos the wild pokemon away. it works, and once the dewgong is out of the picture, the mightyena proceeds to walk like it has done nothing wrong.

he sees the form of a glaceon amid the frosty interior of the caves. its blue fur sticks out like a sore thumb among the earthy hues of the cavern, prompting the mightyena and its trainer to quickly look at it.

kyle shrugs. it seems close enough to a dog since it has four legs. it's good enough for him.

"go for it. i'm sure it'll go for the carrots or something."

the mightyena barks in agreement since they, too, go for the roots of the plants around kyle's home back when they were puppies. as soon as kyle gives him the go signal, the dark-type rushes.

the glaceon gets caught offguard by the sudden gusto of the pokemon. a hyper beam knocks it out cleanly with one hit, followed by the trainer's quick throw of a pokeball at it.
