it was almost a constant to find kyle in a safari zone when there's a dog pokemon in its list. the other pokemon he could catch do not matter as long as he obtains the growlithe.

all six of his mightyena were out of their balls by now, just as usual. it's not like the safari zone manager could do anything about it. kyle thinks they could, but since he gets all six of his pokemon in tow when he does these kinds of things, he gets a little bit of leeway.

"aight, you know what to do."

as soon as he barks an order, all of his party scatters to find a pokemon to chase back to him. one unlucky mightyena gets held by its tail, however, being forced to stay with kyle as protection instead of being allowed to roam freely.

one of the mightyena brings back a fainted chingling nestled nicely on his maws, its small. circular form fitting within the rows of teeth without those directly scratching the smooth surface of the bell.

they were nice, but kyle already has one. it's enough to make him consider to start training it for actual battles instead of just being able to follow commands.

kyle shaking his hade lightly was all it took for the mightyena to spit the chingling out of its mouth and turn tail to continue searching for another pokemon.

the sight of the oshawott being chased by a mightyena only leads to one reaction from kyle.

kyle outstretches his arm, palm facing downwards, before he fans his fingers away from him at the sight of the mightyena returning with an oshawott.

he already has one of them. he's here to get the other ones he needs, most notably another growlithe. it would've been different if it was shiny though.

the mightyena goes to bark at the oshawott, scaring it to another direction away from kyle.

as soon as he catches the pokemon in a ball, another mightyena approaches them with a cyndaquil in front of it, obviously being chased.

kyle squints, much like the cyndaquil's eyes, and then realizes that the sun is setting. his time was ticking and he has no other reason to be picky with pokemon he takes home.

"fuck it. just bonk it on the head for me."

the mightyena, surprised of the sudden shift in commands, does as he was told and runs at the cyndaquil, plowing over it like a car does to a jaywalker. the cyndaquil faints and kyle follows it up with a quick throw of a pokeball.

another one comes quick as soon as kyle catches the last one. this time, it's a bird. kyle doesn't like birds that much, but he'll take what he can get.

"crunch!"

the mightyena that had been chasing the rowlet gets the instructions and get into action as soon as it can. brandishing its fangs, it pounces on the rowlet as it picks up speed.

the rowlet, however, shadow sneaks away in an attempt to get away from the mightyena behind him. unfortunately, another one is stationed beside kyle, which is situated in front of it.

the second mightyena hits the rowlet with its own move as soon as it pops out of the shadow, dropping the rowlet on the ground for kyle to catch with his pokeball.

another mightyena comes in as the other gets out to look for more pokemon to chase towards kyle. the newcomer has a pokemon in front of it, being chased, albeit in a more friendly manner than the previous ones.

he gets excited when his eyes see the pokemon he's been here for despite the lack of awareness of the wild pokemon with the situation. "finally!" he exclaims.

the mightyena beside him spares a look at kyle, which then is responded with a motion of his head towards the growlithe. it's the same thing, and repeating instructions was unnecessary for now.

the mightyena moves in, bowling itself at the growlithe. as the two collided, the fire-type staggers at its feet, growling in defiance as it finally sees the hostility around it.

before it can retaliate, however, kyle throws a pokeball.
