As Thomas traveled up the mountain, he began to feel his energy slowly draining from him. Looking around, he would notice a familiar blue glow. A Litwick was following him, and attempting to siphon his life force.

Acting quickly, Thomas brought out Brutus the Pangoro. The Pangoro would immediately attempt to launch the haunted candle with a Throat Chop. The Litwick would respond by Minimizing her body, narrowly dodging the attack aimed at her. In response, she would attempt to engulf the Pangoro in a Fire Spin. The Pangoro would in turn use a Bullet Punch to throw himself out of the path of the flames, avoiding being engulfed in the flame vortex.

The Litwick would fire a dark purple beam at the Pangoro, subjecting the fighting panda to a Nightshade. Despite the oncoming headache, the Pangoro braved the attack, once again going for a Throat Chop. This time, the attack connected, sending the Litwick flying away from them.

"Good job, Brutus. Now I just need to catch my breath.", Thomas told the Pangoro, slumping up against the mountainside.

Having collected himself sufficiently, Thomas continued along the mountain path. He would notice a sizable rock floating around. Brutus stepped forward to intervene. Rather than strike them, the rock floated back around. Both Pangoro and trainer would look to see a Gothita controlling the rock. It was using Telekinesis to play with the rock.

As soon as she saw the trainer and Pangoro duo, the Gothita panicked, dropping the rock and retreating to a hiding place. She would desperately hope that they wouldn't discover her, as she had no effective means of fighting back, and none of her family to back her up.

Thankfully, Thomas and Brutus merely continued along their path, wary of the Gothita potentially attacking them. The attack wouldn't come, as the Gothita, sighting with relief, hurried back home. She doubted the next encounter would be so lucky for her.

Continuing his travel along the mountain path, Thomas would spot something closing in on them from the distance. A Swoobat would whip its wings, creating a vicious gust of wind. Brutus stepped in front of his master to shield him from the burst of wind. The attack would cause the Daunting Pokemon to grunt in pain.

The Swoobat would follow up by flying directly at the Pangoro, attempting to Heart Stamp the beast. This time, Brutus felt nothing as the heart-shape snout hit his body. The Swoobat, realizing its attack did nothing, attempted to get away from the bear. The Pangoro, capitalizing on the distance, batted the bat away from them with a vicious Throat Chop. The attack would send the Swoobat flying down the mountain, before it would recover, and fly off as quickly as it could.

"Thanks.", Thomas told the Pangoro. Brutus would give his master a thumbs up in response.
