Her oddish was already up to no good, he was a mischievous little one spreading his powders around as Ivy was too focused on the fact that were a bunch of people around her. She hated crowds, she had begun to wonder why she had even left her little hut in the forest to talk to 'people'.[break][break]

She lets out a small sigh as she scoops up her oddish "Stop making everyone sneeze. It's not nice. You'll get me in trouble and then you're gonna have to work overtime to pay off the fines." she said as she chastised him but giggled that he was such a little scamp like his owner.

elijah's eldegoss is faster than him. as it waltzes toward the next table with a light cry. a smile greets ivy. her oddish. without looking away, the eldegoss tugs the seat back with a small dusting of spores.

despite the grace of the pokemon's arrival, elijah ruins the delicate debut with a harsh landing on his fancy chair. he almost squats on it. brutish body hunkers over the table, casting a shadow over its lacey tablecloth. "hi. nice pokemon."

his brows are furrowed in concentration. a stern line makes his lips. he extends a hand, wrinkled and weathered by years of gardenwork.

"elijah. business or pleasure?"

Her oddish wiggles free from her grasp and rushes over to the eldegoss and does a little dance by jumping side to side wanting to play with the Pokémon and jumps. [break][break]

She is suddenly shook by the oversized man's sudden and brash entrance. The way he sat matching his wide frame and calloused hands were enough to give away that he did a lot of manual labor. He extends his weathered hands and Ivy decides to oblige him with her own, small and petite and well taken care of by comparison. "Ivy. Same to you, Eldegoss can be difficult to manage." she smiles at him as her thin lips spread to speak once more. [break][break]

"For you? Either. Mostly business but pleasure along the way would be interesting." she speaks as she shows hints of sophistication mixed with confidence in how she carries herself. "And what do you seek out Elijah? No one comes to these things without a desire, so." she says pulling her hand back and interlocking her fingers together as she tries to get a read on him.

"sure. the same. yeah." elijah says, swatting back the delicate echo of his question.

he pulls out a business card. the white square is smudged with a thumb print of dirt. elijah thought his parasect had good quality control— but he couldn't deny the charm of his own rustic mark.

tossing it on to the table, he says, "i'm a plant guy. apothecary. flowerbeds. real beds."

Despite the shared occupation these two couldn't be more different in terms of personality. He was rough, abrasive, you can tell by just a mere glance at him he had seen a thing or two in his life that he'd rather not speak of. [break][break]

On the other hand Ivy was quiet, delicate and precise in her mannerisms. "I like how straight forward you are." she grins devilishly as she enjoyed when the other person in a deal would reveal their hand so easily. "An apothecary?! What are the odds?" she exclaims in a tone that conveyed surprised joy. "I am as well! I think the locals in foretree have started to call me the witch of the forest." she scoffs and rolls her eyes at the idea. She was merely a business woman. [break][break]

"How has the business treated you?" she asked as she's had some issues finding clienteles, ignoring the fact she hides in the middle of the forest to be left alone.

elijah's shoulders fall slack when ivy mentions her own profession. leaning back in his chair, he scrutinizes her with trained eyes. sifts her visage through filter and muslin skin.

"witch of the forest? they just call me asshole." he creaks forward, nailing his elbows on the table. elijah's chest heaves over the cloth- but it is his sharp stare that pushes closest to her.

"business is... okay. apothecaries don't make much money nowadays." elijah raises a brow. "and you? do you sell real medicine or swamp mud facials?"

She completely notices him scrutinizing her as a whole but she remained calm, unbothered by it. She wasn't the type to cower in fear, regardless of who tried to intimidate her. [break][break]

She returns the favor, looking him up and down with her eyes, scanning every inch of his body but staying as reserved as possible. She was a business woman first after all. "Asshole huh? Sounds like you let them get away with it." she comments with a small sly grin as she enjoyed teasing people. [break][break]

The sly grin lingered as he asked her exactly what kind of apothecary she was as she began to formulate her answer, choosing her words carefully. "Medicines, Facials, poisons." she says as she lets that answer linger for a moment " I wouldn't be against working together now and then if you're interested, I'd like to see your work." she says pulling out a card of her own that couldn't be the more opposite of elijah's. It was beautiful little card with white and ivory imagery on it, and if elijah studied it enough he'd realize it was hollow with a small baggie inside containing a powder that looked similar to matcha. [break][break]

"Add it to your tea, enjoy the ride." she giggled as she placed the back of her hand to her mouth. "Or just slip it into someone else's and enjoy the show."

elijah thumbs the little packet, feeling the powder or grind inside. an amused grunt leaves through frond-lips.

"interesting." he says, pocketing it carefully. "i'll keep in touch then."

the bell chimes for their date and as he drags his ass out of his hoity toity seat, it nudges askew. elijah kicks it back into place.

"slateport market. it's all on the card." elijah says. "i'll give you a gift if you drop by."

he leaves curtly, eldegoss offering a smile he can't.
