Meatloaf's bold battle cry was answered by a Noble Roar that initially scared the Shelgon. Upon seeing that it was just a tiny Jangmo-o, however, he regained some of his confidence, performing another Dragon Dance on the fly. Confused by the random dancing, Jangmo-o tried to ram into him with its heart-shaped head, but his tough shell withstood the damage.

"I think that's enough Dragon Dances for now. Go for an Outrage!" Andrea ordered. The Shelgon's round body was enveloped in a powerful aura, and he pushed his opponent back with great might. Realizing that it was outmatched, the Scaly Pokémon decided to cut its losses and run away, leaving Meatloaf victorious. Andrea decided not to give chase, since given the Jangmo-o's size, it might have been a baby that got separated briefly from its mother.

Another foe jumped out of the tall grass, this one being a wild Sliggoo that jiggled its slime-coated antennae menacingly, Cursing Meatloaf and his lineage. Taking great offense to that, the Shelgon aimed a Headbutt at the slug's foul mouth, but the latter retaliated with a super effective Dragon Breath.

"Are you alright? That looked like it hurt!" Andrea exclaimed worriedly, but her partner gave her a comforting look, reassuring her that he could still fight. After all, he wasn't called the Endurance Pokémon for nothing! Channeling his adrenaline into another Outrage, it managed to hit Sliggoo so hard, the poor slug was launched high into the air, a twinkle in the sky being the last thing they saw from it. Another victory for Meatloaf, who roared triumphantly.

Meatloaf's battle cry was interrupted by the terrifying roar of a wild Salamence. While Intimidated by its fearsome presence, the Shelgon nonetheless stared back at his own evolved form with a look of utter defiance.

Finally, a worthy opponent! Our battle will be legendary!

The azure dragon exhaled its devastating breath at its smaller counterpart. Staggering from the damage, Meatloaf responded with a Double-Edge, but only ended up hurting himself, since his airborne opponent easily dodged the attack. The Salamence's own Double-Edge then sent the oversized volleyball flying straight into his trainer, who was crushed under his weight.

"Ngh... She's really tough. Maybe we should run away..." Andrea muttered, wincing in pain. However, much to her surprise, her Shelgon groggily climbed off her chest, facing his opponent once more. The girl's eyes widened. "You haven't given up yet, have you?" Sitting up and gazing at the horizon, she suddenly got an idea. "I've got it! Meatloaf, use Outrage! Push Salamence towards the ocean!"

The second-stage Dragon type did so, charging into the flying behemoth with all of his draconic might. "Outrage again!" Andrea yelled, as the Shelgon kept charging, each strike pushing Salamence ever closer to the shore. "OUTRAGE!" The PokéManiac cried at the top of her lungs. Finally, Salamence fell into the water with a resounding splash, its crimson wings getting soaked and heavier, hindering its flight. While it was prone, Meatloaf barreled into it with one last Outrage, which was enough to knock the larger dragon out.

"Yay! We did it!" An overjoyed Andrea cheered. Her joy soon gave way to confusion, as her Pokémon suddenly started glowing. His round shape changed into one that was far more defined, a pair of large wings sprouting from the main body, a long tail, and finally a serpentine head. "N-no way!" Her Shelgon had evolved into a Salamence!

The newly evolved Meatloaf roared victoriously, while standing over the unconscious body of his opponent. This was merely the beginning of his epic saga! Henceforth, he shall be known as a slayer of dragons! The name Meatloaf shall strike fear into the hearts of his own kin!

After letting Meatloaf have his moment, Andrea threw a Pokéball at the fainted Salamence. Having a Salamence of her own was fantastic. Having two was even better!
