Bryan hadn't stepped foot in this since he last battle Adrian Malcolm . He wondered how that battle would go nowadays. It was pointless to think of such things since there was a new challenger approaching him and a new toy he wanted to play with. His Liligant was the one he battled with last time here and it seemed like she had a new look to her so he wanted to test her out. [break][break]

He stepped up to the stage as the crowd cheered and roared to see what it was this mysterious stranger with a hood on his head would toss out. Bryan quickly gave them their answer as he tossed out his Hisuian Liligant and she let out a tiny yet eager screech and the crowd whispered in confusion at this new Pokémon variant. He sat idly waiting for his opponent to show up.

The client had not disappointed. With the security of a chatot of a witness having been wiped with a single bullet, the fee for a VIP pass for an underground battle arena had been waived. At first, the liechtenstein scarred man was more than happy to have his client and their quarry share a fate, but when he was informed of duplicating his pay plus the influx of clients depending in his pokemon's display, Ame would at least see if it was even worth his time. He had his doubts, but the man was pleasantly surprised.

In such case that this was not a walk-in to an unfair, unprepared brawl, Avian kept his little copycat Sneasel out of his ball. Alexios, as the sharp claw pokemon was named, did nothing that his "sensei" did not do himself. He hopped in his trainer's footsteps since he hatched, even being to bold as scratching his own face to mimic the electric scars that marred Avian's face. If he did not keep his closet closed or his jewelry kept away, he would wake up to tattered shirts or prayer beads strewn about the floor because Alexios kept trying to steal them. the Sneasel was a handful to say the least, but he was nothing if not viciously loyal.

Ame had walked straight past the registry box where lines of people stood, grumbling and heckling one another how they were stronger than the next in line, liability paperwork and ridiculous fees keeping some contenders for up to half an hour. A pair of intoxicated imbeciles had seen the man in an expensive-looking silk cardigan and his pokemon walk to where those around the station were paying handsomely to be. They removed themselves from the impatient lines, their place being eaten by thankful people rushing to get in and win fast money. The two goons brandished a cheap beer, clearly uncaring for their dignity or sanity by the look of numerous stains on their clothes. Avian curled his lips is disgust. "Plebeians." He spat bitterly at the drunk buddies.

One had charged towards the scarred man, daring him on with a forceful shove and threatening gestures. Normally, the assassin would brush off such stupid displays of fragile masculinity, but this idiot blemished his brand-new, expensive, SILK cardigan with a stain of the bottle of piss worth less than the dirt on his boots. Avian didn't even need to pull the wooden herding whistle around his neck to his lips; his pokemon sprung toward the aggressor with vigor and a cry unforgiving. The folks that had ursurped the drunkards' place in line hissed in empathetic agony as they witnessed this man get bent in half. The second man stumbled fearfully in place when he realized nobody held their place in the pecking order and Alexios was glaring a hole through him. Avian summons the sharp claw pokemon back his his side as he gets the 'go-ahead' from his client, a doorman to the shoddy "locker room" before the ring.

Avian and his Sneasel took their time to cross the arena to the X on the cracked concrete. From what the scarred man could see, his opponent seemed to be promising: at the minimum, he at least had good personal hygiene. That was a step-up from a good number of hooligans he saw this day in the lines. His partner of choice looked to be some variant of a Lilligant, skirt petals and her head flower much smaller/shorter than he remembered the species to have. As long as it wasn't an electric type, he could try not give a care. Seeing the opponent across the floor was worth at least basic human decency, Avian bows. Alexious looks at his human and bows his head to the flower lady and her own human. He steps forward, unsheathing his claws, waiting for a whistle-command to begin.
