it's proving to be a nice little escape from his daily life that's recently become quite...boring. is boring the right word? it feels repetitive and tiring even if he knows he's doing good for slateport.

he does his best not to think about work right now.

Jessie flashed him a smirk regardless before looking back at the sparkling dust floating about.

"So. how's work going for you?"

"it's, uh, it's going..."

there's not much to tell, honestly, because he's sure jessie wouldn't want to hear about his cases. not that he could tell her anyways. that shit's classified and all.

"kinda hard to focus recently, you know? after having my heart shattered."

he's overexaggerating but the point still remains.

Jessie frowned, leaning forward a bit as he stated his break up.

"Shattered? Why didn't you tell me this until now?" she said, almost as though she was offended.

However, she eased up on the teasing. Jessie had to. She grabbed his arm, looping hers with his, and bumping her hip against him. She pulled a classic, bright smile before speaking.

"Well, you know what? That means you didn't need her. Because you're an awesome dude. And if anyone tells you otherwise, tell them Jessica Black is coming after them, yeah? Come to my place in Verdanturf some time. I'll cook you up something good, and we can watcha movie and drink your favorite drink."

Did she tell him about Niko? It probably wasn't the best time, nor was she sure given Niko's reputation as a gang leader.

in all honesty, he's been taking the time to try and process what happened, his emotions, and what he needs to do to move on. he should've told her.

his sister's attempt to brighten his mood works splendidly. he chuckles, nodding.

"that sounds nice. oh, yeah, how's verdanturf going? anything exciting?"

What to say about it? She really loved the area. The gang was a great group of people, besides the bitches that Niko dealt with when she had first moved. And the kids were really sweet.

"I really like it. It's nice and cozy. I feel like I belong."

"yeah? i'm really glad to hear, jessie. you deserve as much and more."

at least one of them is happy. actually, he's pretty sure gabrielle black is happy, too. so is Sirius Black. so maybe it's just him that's the odd one out?

would not surprise him.

"uh, what do you exactly do again in verdanturf? i forgot."

Uriah was sweet. However, she felt like he deserved the same as her. He did a lot for his community, whereas she was simply just an entertainer. Not to mention she was apart of the organization causing him trouble.

There was a pang of guilt that tore through Jessie, causing her to look to the side as if something had caught her attention.

"Hmm? Well, I still work night life. Though, it's kind of cut back. I mostly serve drinks and food now instead of entertain."

It was her personal decision to cut back on entertaining. Dancing would always be something she loved, but she loved doing it for someone rather than a group of people now.

uri, while normally extremely perceptive (not really), misses her small change in expression. he's also looking off to the side at nothing in particular.

"oh, cool, cool."

only now does he look back over. the next question leaves a little hesitant, as though he's unsure whether or not he should be asking.

"so are you cool if i visit?"

Jessie raised her brows. He wanted to come visit? She figured that perhaps he was too busy or he didn't want to travel that far. However, the gesture made her heart flutter with excitement.

"Sure! You can come visit. I really like it there. It's pretty," she said with a cheesy grin.
