the kiss stops the exchange, although the pause was welcomed. as they break off, he stares at the ring for a bit, taking the image and burning it in his head, before turning back to noah.

"i guess that's it for our date, then. do we go home now?"

kanto. johto. even here, in hoenn, noah once only knew of displacement. when he was younger, he sympathized with the spinarak of ecruteak. how people would tear down their webs in the wooden eaves of old storefronts. how the spinarak would return to little or nothing at all and must start anew.

but for a long time, noah has a place to return to. it faithfully remains in verdanturf, never-changing. never-moving. and although hoenn may constantly be under threat, noah would rather fight for his home.

for fighting reminds him that he has one.
