   Something big, or something bad. He hoped it wasn’t fucking both, because with the way things were quiet lately, there was definitely something fucking up, he just didn’t have the foresight to see that far into the future! However, the old adage of ‘the calm before the storm’ always rang true no matter the circumstances, so there was that… and he was mentally preparing himself for whatever shit storm was headed the region’s way. Boy, they could not just catch a break— And then the door to his office burst open, one of the other Rangers coming in and asking for him to head down to the— “What the hell? You guys didn’t really have to do that!” he exclaimed, embarrassed as he quickly turned off his vape, pocketed the object and made his way down and out to where— “Guys, really?” he said with an exasperated sigh before opening the door and seeing a very familiar onesie. “I am really sorry on behalf of what happened here,” he apologized as he waved at her, signaling that she should leave the room and join him. “I already told them not to send you there next time you come around, you can come straight to my office in the future. It’s just that—yeah, how have you been?” Clearly he wanted to smooth the embarrassing situation over with her! (He was going to give most everyone a talking to later after this.) |

At the mention of stopping a bank heist, though, that made him do a double take. “You’ve been busy,” he continued with an appreciative whistle. “So where do you work now?” However, it was the mention of Chomper evolving that got his full and undivided attention. “I thought you’d never ask. Someone’s been itching for a battle, too,” he continued with this smirk on his face as he led the way down and out of the building. It was like one of the Pokéballs he was carrying also shuddered in anticipation. Someone was excited! “If you’re not busy after, want to go somewhere and catch up? I can offer advice on the two-headed situation,” he added as he tilted his head at the now-Zweilous. (Just wait until he evolved into a Hydreigon.) |

(To be fair, after being stuck in that room he couldn’t blame her reaction at all.) It didn’t take too long before the two Zweilous heads began squabbling over the berry that they’d sniped down from a nearby tree. “Yeah, about that…” he remarked as he quickly unballed both his Metagross and Lucario. This—this was looking like the situation he had with his cousin Elinor Anderson recently—the one with her Bagon. “With Zweilous, since there’s two heads, two brains, the thing is they only share one stomach… the arguing is going to get out of hand unless you put your foot down. And I don’t mean that literally, you have to lay down the law when you feed them.” The Lucario took exactly one look at the Zweilous, before wrinkling his snout at them—squabbling, loud, noisy heads that were arguing over the singular berry. The Metagross, however, eyed the draconid with his burning red eyes. Maybe a little intimidation tactic would work… “Do you have another Pokémon that’s higher up in the hierarchy? Kind of like how Ro and Alpha here are two of my oldest. Long-time companions. Had them since I was a kid.” |

“Well, that’s one way to make Chomper sober up,” he remarked as the mothering Pokémon gave the two-headed dragon this glare that was enough to make small children cry! Either way… Now that the situation was settled, he let out another chuckle. “I think your ‘Missy’ would have to be the one to stand guard over all of ‘em when you’re not around, since she was able to make Chomper here quiet up,” he pointed out, before the shining silver beast floated forward, eventually settling his four legs down on the ground. “Ro’s ready, when you are.” Behind the Metagross, the Lucario was giving Lars this ‘are you serious?!’ look, before he gave the Lucario a smirk as he crossed the ‘area’ in order for the two Pokémon to have enough space to duke it out. |

“Holy crap,” was all he could say at first, having to rub his own eyes and stare at the now-sparkling Zweilous. A few moments later, he couldn’t help himself, and let out a bark of laughter. “Dang, looks like someone really wants to prove himself, huh?” he said between the lighthearted chuckles that were escaping him. “It’s like this saying of ‘work until your idols become your rivals’ or something…” The Lucario behind Lars could only facepalm, before rolling his eyes extremely pointedly at his human companion. Oyyyyy. “Ro, I trust you can handle this,” he continued as the Zweilous came charging—before a sudden burst of Telekinetic power attempted to lift the draconid up into the air. He really wasn’t going to make this easy, was he… |

…much as Ro wanted to use Psychic, that wasn’t going to work jack squat on the Zweilous because of the typing, so the next best thing— After the teeth had sunk into the metallic surface, the only thing that the Metagross would do was attempt to shake the Zweilous off, letting gravity take control for a few moments—and should the Zweilous find himself airborne, the beginnings of a series of Bullet Punches began assaulting the draconid. |

“And he’s not going to be cowed by that,” he remarked. “Ro here keeps his head on regardless of whatever situation he’s thrown into.” While the Zweilous attempted to assert his dominance, the Metagross kept his eyes on the draconid, waiting for the other to come charging—and in the meantime, the shining silver beast used Agility to get ready to close the distance should the other Pokémon decide to charge at him head-on. “Your move,” he said in Andrea’s direction, the hint of a grin flashing across his face. |
