MAREEP MEEP MEEP

Hoon definitely was no stranger to bright lights and big cities, but he was a country boy at heart, nothing could beat the shore and some wildlife for him. The military was used to protect government-owned assets at times, and he was down in Mauville being whipped into shape exactly for that, however he'd finally found some downtime, which meant getting out of dodge for a little and relaxing.

Mankey strolled along Hoon like his little sidekick, he seemed to be his most fitting pokemon for the whole guard vibe that was going on while he was down here, so he was getting a lot of time out of his ball. Mankey was honestly very strangely docile, he wasn't particularly shy or frightened of anything, but he never got worked up on his own. Hoon appreciated it, he could get amped himself but that sort of energy 24/7 is a drag.

Yet Hoon's penchant for stumbling into strange scenarios seemed to crop up once again, from behind him he could hear "Stop those bleatin' Mareep!". Hoon's first reaction was "Bleatin'?", his second reaction was "Oh.... he's probably talking to me".

As Hoon turned on his heel he expected to see a trainer with a couple of his Mareep hopping away, instead he a gang of some farm-bred, hungry for exercise Mareep.

"This gonna be a lil' rough on my own..."

on the contrary, cian certainly gave off the air of a city boy. it had been a long time that he'd been away from slateport or lilycove long enough to not see skyscrapers in the distance.

[break][break] but his father had sent him here, and so here he would be.

[break][break] as he appeared on the farmland, there was a sense of deja vu that threatened to overwhelm him. flickers of a memory long buried away — running along a mountainside with air in his lungs, back when he'd been young and free and not tied to rocket in the slightest. CIAN MAHER had stolen that dream from him, and then buried it.

[break][break] he swallowed the bitterness, instead, walking behind a brunette. "hey, you here for them?" he nodded towards the group of mareep. "caden. what's your name?" he offers a hand in greeting. beside him, messiah stares at @jihoon with a peerless stare.

Hoon rolled up his sleeves, tongue poking out of his lips as he tried to figure out what he was gonna do. Now let's see he-- GAH the internal dialogue of Hoon was interrupted when the mystery man from behind called out. He took a deep breath and turned, "Hehe, you got me good there...".

Hoon was no savage, if he's offered a hand to shake, a hand he shall shake indeed, but while doing so he furrowed his brow and tilted his head. "Caden eh? Name's Hoon..." Caden, Caden, Caden... An itch formed in the back of his head, but he couldn't quite work that out right now.

He peered over his shoulder, looking at the situation continuing to unfold with the Mareep, "Lemme ask you a couple questions Caden, you got some free time and you able to handle yourself around some pokemon? Cause I was about to scoop up a few of these little guys and get 'em back to that guy scrambling over there". He'd throw back his thumb to gesture over to the Mareep and the frantic farmer.

[break][break] caden arched a brow, but otherwise said nothing about how easily he'd been able to sneak up on the other. maybe he should try to make his steps more obvious, louder. no that he'd really been trying to sneak up on him any way. if he was on a rocket mission, he could've stolen his cash easily.

[break][break] 'free time? yeah right.' he was only here because his father had asked him. what his father won from distracting a farmer and some mareep for a few hours was beyond him.

Maher. Maher, Maher, Maher. Hmmm. Repeating the name back to himself in his head, it turned the itch into a... really bad itch. He could feel it on the tip of his tongue, but he shrugged it off for now, the more you chase these things the further away they get. I'll probably figure it out in the shower tomorrow or something

"I'm Ji-Hoon Kang, pleasure's mine bud." Hoon gave a cheeky little grin afterwards.

Oh shit I forgot about the Mareep there for a sec... He cleared his throat, "Well I dun' think Mareep are big sprinters so we can probably just go round an'...", Hoon would then gesture over to the farmer frantically scooping the Mareep from below and then plopping them over the chest height fence into an poke-pen.

"I 'unno if you're much of a pokemon guy, but if you think you got one or two who could help out right now that might make it easier"

ji-hoon kang. not a name he recognized, at least not from the get-go. not that caden had expected any less.

[break][break] it wasn't like he had been anticipating on meeting a celebrity in the middle of a farm.

[break][break] "hm? yeah, i do." he reaches into his pocket and releases his musharna, his tried-and-true partner. sure, caden had other pokemon that he could've released in his arsenal, but none that he felt like exposing himself to right now. his musharna floats between the two of them, releasing pink smoke.
